I have several different GMRS radios and the Tidradio H8 Is pretty fantastic. It has a lot of customizable features including custom programming and is CHIRP compatible. The Tidradio software isn't bad to work with fairly user friendly, If that's the way you want to go to program. This is bluetooth compatible so you can program it from your phone (there is an app) And this has come in handy in the field as I have had to change the ctcss tones. If you want to use the radio for more than GMRS you can it's easy to find those videos on YT in order to unlock the radio. If you are using these for GMRS only these are pretty fantastic radios. They feel well built and not cheap. The battery life is very good at lasts around 24 hours on standby almost 16 hours with moderate use. Range on this radio seems about the same with all of my other GMRS radios with no detectable difference.The only con that I would put on this radio is the fact that it is not waterproof or even necessarily water resistant. There is no IP rating so use with caution. But it is fine for use for Fair weather outdoor use, base and vehicle use.

This is nearly my favorite radio. You do get 7 to 10 watts of power depending on band and manufacturing, but the additional bulk and price is not worth it over the Tidradio H3s (in my humble opinion). I have standardized on the H3s for my family to use for GMRS and for my HAM radio needs. The H8 is not a bad radio, quite to the contrary, it is an amazing radio for the price. If the button layout was the same as the H3, I would have kept them around, however having two different button layouts for the family to use how to use the radios is not going to fly at this time. For the time being, I have standardized on the H3s for their price, compact size, and huge amount of features for the price and size.The H8 has a distinct advantage over the H3, and that is in how the belt clip is mounted. For the H3 it is mounted in the easier to break plastic of the battery. For the H8, the screws go through the plastic housing and into the metal frame of the radio.

This is the best handheld radio I've ever had. It's got a lot of cool features that make it stand out from the rest. For example, it can put out a full 5 watts of power (I checked it myself). It can also pick up weak signals without any problem. The battery life is amazing. I can use it for hours without recharging. The software that comes with it makes it easy to program the channels and settings. And the customer service is top-notch. They answer any questions I have within 24 hours. The radio looks great and feels solid in my hand. I love this radio!

I had to return the first set of TD-H8 GMRS radios because the external speaker/mic jack didn't work on one radio and one radio was missing the belt clip screws. However, the replacement set of radios work great. I do like the Odmaster programming software that TIDRadio offers for bluetooth or using a programming cable. The radios feel very sturdy compared to some others that I have used and the sound is quite good. The color screen is quite good and easy to read, even in sun. The 2500maH battery holds a charge for a long time for our use. The dual band feature is nice so that you can achieve some privacy by having the two radios set to the same two channels but swap the active transmit channel on the two radios so that anyone listening only hears one side of the conversation. Haven't fully tested the range yet, but we are getting a couple of miles with the upgraded 771 antennas in the hills around out house.Haven't been able to test comms through a repeater yet since we are not in range of any at the house. Overall, happy with the radios.

Arrived in a timely fashion and worked great right outta the box. Would definitely reccomend this radio to anyone.

I'm used to the uv-5r so this is a great improvement.10w is great for TX. Repeater setup is easy once you get the hang of the menu. Clear version is cool. The whole thing lights up. I would recommend a better antenna.

Bought to use at work. Great radio very clear. Easy to program via chirp or odmaster. Great battery life. Extra batteries is a big plus as well.

GREAT! Perfect for use with parking a RV. Great signal, just need to remember to wait a second before you talk, or the first few words will get cut off.Long battery life, great sound quality and value. Easy to hold onto with both large and small hands.
