Comfort Zone Oscillating Ceramic Tower Space Heater

I love this heater . It was so cold in my apartment. This heater keeps it so warm . Im going to buy another one . Its perfect

I bought this Comfort Zone CZ499R Oscillating Ceramic Tower Heater based on the glowing Consumer Reports high rating of this space heater. I am very surprised that they gave it such a high rating. After a few days, I got an alert on my video monitor in my rec room at 2:20 am that there was someone in the room when there was no one in the room. Looking at the video recording, I saw a change in the lighting, heard a loud bang, and saw a flash of light, which is what triggered the alert. I went down to the rec room to check and didn't hear a bang or notice a flash while I was there but when I left the room, I got more alerts that someone was in the room. I checked the alerts and the same thing was happening on every alert--a shift in the lighting, a loud bang, and a flash of light. I turned the heater off for a day and then turned it back on the next day. After a few hours, the bangs and light flashes started happening again. This made me nervous that it is overheating and might cause a power surge and result in a fire. So I will be returning it and find a different space heater. It is hard to understand why Consumer Reports rated this as a safe heater. The heat is very good, though.

This little heater works very well considering it only cost $54. It’s a little noisy but not too bad. It has four modes; fan only, low heat, high heat and thermostat. The thermostat feature is what we use because it turns the unit off once a a certain is reached. The unit even comes with a remote. One thing I don’t like is the tiny screen it has to show how it is set. Another thing is the oscillator function which has the unit sweep from left to right about 90 degrees doesn’t work too well and hangs up sometimes. The unit also has a very sensitive safety feature which shuts off the power if you try to move it. I like this.

Bought last winter, worked great. Been sitting since it is the summer. Got chilly in my house so I went to turn it on but it wouldn't come on. Beeped and then cut itself off. Didn't last long.

I purchased this space heater several months ago. I did not check to see if it worked okay, so my bad. But when it oscillates, or TRIES to oscillate I should say, it creaks & groans moving side to side & also gets stuck! Then it creaks & groans some more trying to get unstuck. I cannot run the oscillator b/c it's just too noisy & disruptive to listen to! So I'll have to buy another different space heater b/c the oscillating feature was one of the main reasons I bought it in the first place. Very disappointed as it was rated a top heater by Consumer Reports.

It's only my first day using this, but it is working well so far, which is not always the case with space heaters. The package insert has a number of precautions about safety. I followed them, though dubious about placing the unit three feet away from my bed. (Being elderly and wheelchair bound, I use a bed intermittently throughout the day for breaks from the wheelchair.) I am in a very large room. with high ceilings and the area around me and the heater set at 70. I am not using any blankets or comforters. I am about to turn off the heater for a while because I am quite warm. I bought this unit because Consumer Reports recently rated it very highly Another brand was rated only one point higher, but cost several hundred dollars. For that kind of price differential, I'll happily go with the the brand rated second, but only one point lower than the top-rated unit. Because the heater is brand new, I obviously cannot speak to longevity. As to that, I am trusting the review.

This tower space heater is performing great! Great heat ouput and easy to use.

Me gustó que está bien valorado por Consumer Reports; me gustó su tamaño y sus funciones. No me gustó, recién desempacado y que al breve tiempo de estar oscilando dejó de hacerlo; frustrante.

Use it every night, still going strong.

Este calentador es una porquería. Es ruidoso, se atora cuando oscila y hace un ruido horrible de clic cuando intenta girar. Está hecho completamente de plástico delgado. La gente de Comfort Zone debería sentirse avergonzada por vender este montón de basura.
