Q: Is there another holder for this that would be higher than 10" for a large breed dog?

No we built the stand for a large breed size dog. Anything higher than 10 inches is too high for large breed sizes. In nature dogs drink from the ground level. 10 inches is plenty. Chuck - Owner

The actual bowl has a removable lid.

Q: Ad says 10in. but, 8 in is what is sent? Even on Box it said 8in??

The Listing says the Top Edge of the Bowl from the ground is 10 Inches and the Stand itself is 8 inches.

The Stand Fits the Water Bowl, we do sell just the Bowl (as a Food Bowl) on our website and that Bowl fits the Stand as well. The bowl is the same for all the Breed Size Lids and also for the Feed Bowl , its 9.84" Wide by 4.19" High. Chuck-Owner
