I have been using dokken training bumpers since they first started making them. Great to throw, very durable. Dogs love them . I used them with my newfies in play, water rescue and boat tows. I now am working my gsd in protection . This is the toy that worked to get him to bite well ,and grip properly with the back teeth. ( bitting down hard and tug a war does not damage it). In the decades of different dogs my Gsd is the first to tear a chunk off and chew the string off when left unattended . so they can be damaged but it isn't easy. All dogs seem to love the feel of it in their mouths. They will last forever if you don't lose them. I had a few for over 10 years before getting lost.
