This R2-D2 is a fantastic set that hits the sweet spot between being detailed enough to display and still fun to build. At around 24cm tall it is smaller than the UCS version but still feels solid and well put together. The build experience is smooth and varied, with clever techniques used to shape the dome and body. It never feels repetitive and the end result captures R2’s look really well. The set includes features you would expect like the rotating head, the third leg that can be deployed, and a couple of hidden tools. These little touches give it character and make it more interactive than just a static model. It comes with a printed anniversary plaque and a small display stand for the included R2-D2 minifigure which rounds the set off nicely. On display it looks fantastic. The proportions are spot on and the scale works well for a desk or shelf without taking up too much room. The only slight downside is the use of a few stickers which could have been printed pieces, but that is a minor issue. Overall this is excellent value. It looks great alongside other Star Wars sets, it is enjoyable to build and it feels like a proper collector’s piece without the cost of the larger version. A must for LEGO Star Wars fans.

This LEGO R2-D2 set is fantastic. The build is challenging but really rewarding, with great attention to detail that captures the iconic droid perfectly. The instructions were clear, and the final model looks impressive on display. It’s a fun project whether you’re a seasoned LEGO fan or just a Star Wars lover. My only gripe is that some pieces are tiny and easy to lose, but overall, I’m very happy with this set. Definitely worth adding to any collection!

Been a lover of Star wars and Lego this was an easy purchase for me. As always the Lego parts are constructed to a high quality and the details of the model make a great looking display which is highly detailed. It prove the challenging but fun build even for the big kids. No parts missing and as always the Lego instructions are easy to follow especially if used on an iPad or tablet. Would highly recommend for anybody is a fan of Star wars or LEGO in general.

This was bought as a Xmas present for my grandson. He seemed very pleased with it and as far as I know has started to construct it? Hopefully all the parts are in the box!
