Well I have more than a few saltwater reels. I put this KastKing 4000, head to head with my favorite in the same class. I like the fact its advertised it as IPX6 100% Waterproof. I haven't had the chance to submerge it and take it apart yet, but upon inspection it seems very well sealed.Now to what It tested. The Drag, Its very smooth and strong on numerous settings. Smoother than the favorite. Both reels have a very smooth retrieve. While holding bail and turning the handle I was impressed there was absolutely zero play. It has a very sturdy feel and is slightly heavier than the competition. The Bail is large and stout. It flips over easy with a turn of the handle as expected. The Color is an attractive radiant Cobalt Blue. The handle Fits perfect in your hand. Is this a New Favorite??? Maybe Time will Tell.Pros: Great Drag, Tight retrieve. Waterproof. Competitively Priced.Cons: A little Heavy and not been out long enough to gain a reputation.I will say this, I own more than six KastKing products none have let me down yet, and I will continue to buy more. It gets my thumbs Up.

This is a great looking reel that looks perfect with my favorite rod. (Kastking inshore rod I've had for about a year and a half). Fishing in salt water make it's being totally sealed a must for longevity of the reel. It has a ruff area on the spool where a lot of of reels only have rubber. This will last a lot longer. The retrive is perfect for live bait or using casting lures. It is as smooth as silk when reeling. It holds a good amount of line for the big fish. This is my second one of these reels and both work great. Would definitely recommend, they work great.

Kastking is by far my go-to brand for fishing and outdoor products. I have a deep sea fishing trip planned soon so I need a really solid, water proof reel, and I saw they had a salt water reel in 6000 size. I am so glad I was able to purchase it. It feels great, it spins very smooth! It is a little heavy, but that makes total sense. It came packaged nicely and looks good to. I think it's a great value for the price. I haven't tested it per se, so I will update when I do. But so far, out of the box, I'm impressed and have high hopes.

This reel is going to me my main spinning ocean reel. Capacity on line is perfect. Drag system seem to be a great system, Right now the weather is too cold to be ocean fishing. But I did go out to the local lake and did some casting with this reel. Cast great with my 7' blankstar pole. Easy to control the drag. Bail worked perfectly. Another bonus was the color Blue my favorite color. I would highly recommend this reel. You could also use this reel for Stripers in fresh water. some of them get pretty big and I'm sure this reel would handle them large fish, I have other KastKing products and they all work great, Never had a problem with my KastKing products. Just Buy it you won't regret it!!!!

Amazing quality spinning reel! It rotates so smoothly. I haven't had a chance to use it on the water yet but I can tell it's durable and made with good quality materials. Good price for the quality and great color options! Highly recommend for any novice or experienced fishers!
