Decent inexpensive router that does the job
The media could not be loaded. I do have larger routers which are cordered. However, I wanted to try a small cordless router for some basic edge trimming work, etc. and this one seemed like it might do the job. So I ordered it. At this price point I didn't expect a lot and after inspecting, then trying it on some wood, I can conclude that it certainly does the basic work. However, for something more intricate, it might not be your choice. I made a rather long but detailed video review explaining everything since I wanted to be fair. I still think it is a good option for something decent and inexpensive and will keep using it.

Not compatible with Makita bases and Accessories. A poor imitation.
This Heimerdinger cordless compact/trim router is supposed to be based on the Mikita router. And in fact, it is somewhat similar. It can use a Makita battery and it has Mikita colors and shape, but...It is not made nearly as well as a real Mikita. I have a Makita trim router that is corded. I also have a number of different Mikita router bases that enable me to make bevel cuts or edging, etc.. This Heimerdinger Will not fit in any of them. If you look closely at my pictures you will see that the plastic base that comes with this Heimerdinger router does not have a fine depth adjustment gear nor the toggle lock to tighten the base around the router. The router itself does have notches in it as if it's designed to interface with the adjustment gear of the base, however these notches are not deep enough to allow the gear to engage. In fact, they are so shallow that any base that has the adjustment gear on it will not slide over the router itself. It's more as if these were notched in the router to imply compatibility without any intention to make them functional. The base it comes with is plastic and is tightened with just a wing nut. There's no fine depth adjustment like a true Makita. The Makita bases are metal with a nice rubber grip. They have a geared knob that can be turned to make fine depth adjustments and metal lever to lock the depth in place. The Heimerdinger base is clear plastic with no fine depth adjustment or lock. You can see the differences in my pictures. The Heimerdinger is on the left side and the Mikita is on the right side in all my pictures. This could have been a nice cordless/battery powered router addition to my Mikita tools if Heimerdinger had made the effort to mill in the proper notches in the side of the router instead if just faking it.A true Makita is not that much more expensive. Recommend that route instead of this one.
