Not wired to any known MIDI spec.
This is junk. It doesn't conform to MIDI A or B. The ring is terminated to nothing. I returned one and the replacement had the same issue. Don't bother. Note in the photos - a known good cable vs a known good cable combined with this item.

Non-standard cable; does not work.
This is a non-standard MIDI adapter: sleeve - 2 ring - 3 tip - 4 In other words, it's not Type A or Type B and does not work in any regular application.
