Enemies to lovers fantasy
This was a really nice enemies to lovers fantasy. I really liked the plot of this story and the writing style of K.A. Tucker. The mix between magic, different creatures and feisty characters really is unique to this story. The characters are diverse and there are a little bit of spice as well. I really enjoyed it and have already bought book two in the series that I can’t wait to read.Would definitely recommend to the fantasy enemies to lovers readers out there!

Two worlds
This book transports you to a world of fantasy and elves. It’s written in a way that makes you believe it could be real, while also putting you in a world that sounds impossibly interesting. It’s hard to put down, and difficult to stop thinking about.

So good!!
Wow this was fantastic. To be fair, the beginning is maybe not rough, but definitely confusing. I had zero clue what was going on in the prologue and first chapters. And then everything is confusing because we see this new world through Romeria's eyes and she has been dropped into a high-stakes extremely shocking situation with no warning basically. So we learn what's going on as she does (which does end up including some history lessons--I liked it but I know that's not everyone's cup of tea). But the world-building is so great with magic, gods, monsters, and complicated history.Romeria is a fantastic protagonist--she's resourceful, smart, snarky, and she's definitely a survivor. And Zander...d@mn! Loved him. His struggle with being betrayed and yet still being drawn to Romeria was so well-done. This was enemies to lovers done right and the sexual tension between the two of them was palpable. I also really liked the side characters, especially the more we learned about them, like Elisaf and Corrin. The plot itself is full of political intrigues, danger, backstabbing, high-stakes mystery, and surprises. The reveal in the middle of the book was amazing, and the betrayals and shocks at the end have definitely set up an even more high-stakes sequel. I can't wait to get my hands on it!4.5 stars

2.5 stars
It had so much potential but just not for me. Not sure if I’ll continue to book two. Would’ve given it full three stars if I didn’t find the hero in the end so frustrating
