Sturdy and easy use
Easy to clean. No strange hard reach corners. The edge of triangle mold chipped. The replacement is good. I preferred theses stainless steel ones to the plastic. The rice came out very prettily.

Game changer if you love spam musubi
Usually making spam musubi by hand would result in very lumpy and uneven rice shapes. Not only that, it takes a lot of time forming the shapes so that it looks perfect. This spam musubi maker is a game changer and speeds up the rice forming time significantly. The shapes of the rice comes out perfect as well as that I can pack the rice very tightly so that the spam musubi does not fall apart when I eat it.This spam musubi maker is made out of metal so compared to other counterparts, this is very well made. As it is metal, it is also dishwasher safe which is necessary as cleaning the edges and corners of the mold is not an easy task.

Much easier with the right tools…
So if I was eating misubi or onigiri everyday and had years of experience molding them by hand I would not need these molds but since I don’t these are super handy. It seems like an easy process but it’s harder than you think when you are dealing with semi sticky rice. These molds take all that difficulty away and also provide the perfect portion. I found that some of the rice sticks around so it helps if you apply a little oil with your hands to the inside of the molds and it helps release the shape much easier. The molds are also deep enough that you can make “stuffed” misubi or onigiri but filling about half the. Putting the filling and put the remainder of the rice on top of the filling essentially creating a stuffed onigiri. Just keep your filling away from edges and you will make a great looking onigiri. It takes a couple tries but works fairly well.

Makes things so much faster!
I recently acquired this musubi mold and it has completely changed my musubi-making game! Before, I would try to shape the rice and spam by hand, resulting in uneven and messy musubis, plus it took long. But with the mold, it's so much easier and quicker to create perfectly shaped musubis every time. Plus, it's less messy and makes the process more enjoyable. I highly recommend investing in a musubi mold on hand if you plan on making this often.
