This is comparable to 3x more expensive versions
This tactical hearing protection headset with a military U94 connector is an outstanding piece of gear. The build quality is exceptional and versatile. I was able to remove the ear cups from the original headband and seamlessly mount them using Peltor Comtac arc rail mounts, which are fully compatible. The military-grade connector is another highlight—it’s a true military configuration, not civilian. This is important because the positive audio out and microphone in are reversed between military and civilian push-to-talk setups. Make sure you get a military-oriented push-to-talk or risk hearing faint or no audio at all. I’ve tested this headset in rugged environments, including out on the range and in bad weather, and it has exceeded my expectations. The gel ear cups are incredibly comfortable for extended use, resist deterioration, and hold up well in wet conditions. They don’t generate much heat during use, but I appreciate that they can be removed to cool off if necessary. The electronic hearing protection is fantastic. The communications function works without batteries when plugged in via the jack. However, to hear your surroundings, you’ll need to insert a AA battery into each ear cup. There are four ambient sound levels, and while the lowest level is slightly louder than I’d prefer, it’s not a dealbreaker. This headset enhances your hearing to a level beyond natural ability, making faint sounds clear and conversations easy in loud environments. Additionally, loud bangs are muted effectively to prevent over-amplification. Overall, this headset offers impressive performance, durability, and versatility. Highly recommended for anyone needing reliable hearing protection with communication capabilities.

Great Entry-Level Headset
For someone trying to find a headset that has decent sound pickup, comms capabilites, and actually works as functional hearing protection, I would recommend starting with some of these. After trying to search around for other headsets at this same price-range, I found that this M32 headset most consistently fulfills the basic functions you need from a tactical headset straight out of the box. Yes, there are other entry-level headsets that excel in noise amplification or cheaper comms rigs that transmit signals with higher quality, but I've found that you have to make some sort of modification to the other solutions to even get it to check all of the boxes you need. TLDR - If you want a cheap and reliable tactical headset that can get the job done straight from the box with no modifications needed, then this is the headset for you

NOT AS DESCRIBED & BROKEN
I had reasonably high hopes for these as I’ve heard generally good things about the latest version of the Earmor M32. However, upon opening the box, I immediately noticed the ear pads are of the older foam style, not the silicone gel pads described in this listing ($99 ‘M32 PLUS 2024 Version’), as you can see in the pictures I’ve provided. On top of that, after installing brand new batteries, I discovered the right ear cup does not work at all. I does not work with the unit powered on listening to ambient sound, nor does it work receiving radio transmissions. Zero audio coming through the right ear. I will exchange the item for the same unit, and hopefully these two issues will be rectified. Until then, it gets 1 star. Edit: I received the new headset and it is ‘as described’ and fully functional. I’m quite happy with them, though I haven’t used them on the range yet. Would give ‘em 5 stars but they shipped me some jank-a## crap the first time around.

Solid budget range option
Solid headset. Directional sound, good shot muffling without impending situational awareness. Have not tested microphone yet but they had successfully survived range days with no issues. Fairly light comfortable. Better weight and long term comfort than my sordins.

Good the price, but with some issues
After using these for a few months, I would consider them good for the price, and for the average hunter and/or larper, they’re probably great. Pros: Budget friendly, amplify ambient sound well, connect easily to radios. Great for airsoft, and if used gently, hunting and range days. Cons: The plastic is kinda cheap. These will likely break if you’re too hard on em. I’ve not had issues with my battery compartment (Mine are 2024 model), but other people I know, possibly with older models, have had issues with theirs. A friend of mine just shoves a piece of cardboard in there so the battery will maintain contact with the spring. This is also after a lot of use. Another con - I don’t think I would want to use these without doubling up on hearing protection if expected anything louder than a 5.56. The hearing protection is OK, but I don’t think they’re always producing hearing safe levels with some of the louder calibers. Definitely way better than nothing, but still a bit loud in sometimes. Overall, I really like mine for comms. That’s the main reason I bought em. Haven’t put them through any major grueling conditions, but they’ve worked well so far. Would recommend for light use, airsoft, cheap comms setup, and situations where decibels aren’t likely to exceed 170.

Not as advertised please watch before buying
I used these overseas and they were reliable and great so coming back home I wanted a new pair but they changed the model and it’s not great. My 2 biggest and only issues 1. The mic moves with no resistance so it will be swinging and smacking my face ( a simple move of your head will make it swing ) 2. They have 2 battery ports that were not there in my other set. IN FACT!! My old set is in the pictures and description of the product The new ports will easily open just from a slight rub on the cover So they sent me a different pair that is not in the pictures and description. I promise you these will open in a real situation where these would be used. The covers come off so easily and it will leave your battery exposed on both sides, allowing them to fall out or get wet In my experienced opinion the different model they are sending currently as I write this review won’t be reliable… due to the inconveniences in the current design Consider this before buying
