Johnstone'sPaint for Bricks, Tiles and Doorsteps - Matt Red 750ml

I have to say this is the best doorstep paint I’ve EVER used! It’s a great colour and it’s like painting with a thick cream! It goes a long way despite the thickness as well. Other brands have run out before I finished so I was thrilled I only needed one tin! Well done to Johnstones for a paint that does what it says👍👍

good coverage, thick and goes a long way, used a while ago and still looking good, easy to clean up

This is a thick, smooth paint that goes on easily and covers well even on bare concrete. Although it goes on glossy it dries matt. You can get away with one coat although I used two on the steps in the picture. That used half the can leaving enought for a couple of repaints or a lot more touch-ups.After one month I have noticed that where the steps get persistantly dripped on the paint can start to wrinkle up in a couple of spots. It would then easily scrape off but if left it will dry back ok. This could lead to some flaking later, but I would expect to repaint steps like this every year or so whatever I used.

I tend to paint my front steps (2) quite often, and not because I want to, but because they soon start to look scruffy. However, I am amazed at the difference between this product and my last paint. This Johnstone's paint is noticeably thicker and is already proving to be more durable. I have been washing the steps every week and the paint is still looking very smart, and I'm now seeing red where I used to see a patchy finish with my old paint. This product has an almost matt finish which I was unsure about, but in fact it looks very smart and is, in my opinion, better looking than shiny stuff! The drying time was much quicker than stated on the tin, but It's still advisable to follow the recommendation. I also have enough paint left to last quite a while too, having used less that a quarter of a tin!
