Power glide cue
Got this as another cue as liked the look of it used it and won a few racks already. Fibre glass shaft is different but good to play with. Tip shapes nicely and the butt is a good weight all in all a good all round cue for pool or snooker .

A frustrating mix of good and bad
This is a really smart looking cue the photos don't really show how nice it looks. The shaft is smooth matt black with a stainless steel ferrule and joint, the butt is high gloss lacquered with a cracked ice paint job underneath that looks pretty cool and a rubber end bumper. The butt joint is stainless to match the shaft and is a quick release type which works really well - a couple of turns and everything is nice and snug and stays that way while you play. Mine weighs approx 18.5 ounces which is perfect for me when playing pool - I don't do snooker not enough patience. That's the good points - now the bad. The packaging is rubbish. A thin plastic bag with separate pockets for each half and an equally thin cardboard box only just big enough to accept the 2 cue halves in the bag - so not much protection for the cue. Luckily mine was ok but I have seen some reviews for powerglide cues where damage had occurred in transit. The manufacturer has also applied some large stickers directly to the butt - the type that don't peel off cleanly and leave a sticky paper/adhesive mess behind. A bit of coconut oil softened it up enough to get it off but why not just put the stickers on the plastic bag or box? Another problem is the tip. Mine arrived quite flat and needed a bit of sanding to get a decent dome on it, unfortunately once I started playing I realised the effort was wasted - it's ok for low to medium power shots but when you hit harder e.g. breaking the tip seems to compress and just soaks up the energy you put in with some pretty naff results. I play upto 10 frames a day as we are lucky to have a table at work and thought the tip might harden up a bit but it actually seemed to get softer and started to "mushroom" so it had to come off and I fitted a better one. As mentioned previously the shaft is very smooth and doesn't drag on the bridge hand at all, this can lead to some spectacular loss of control as any weak points in your technique are magnified. You have to be really consistent with this cue so it's probably not suitable for a beginner. The cue is also stated as having a lower deflection than a traditional wood cue but I'm not convinced as mine seems to have slightly more flex than the ash cue I had before. The joint which works well is slightly narrower that the width of the shaft and butt ends which some players may not like - it doesn't bother me too much though and it also doesn't catch my beard which my old cue with a really flush joint did. For all the bad points I still really like this cue and I think it has potential it's just going to take some work to get there! 14th december Update - something else to be aware of: the shaft is tougher than a wood cue and fairly knock resistant although it will mark if you drop or catch it on something. The gloss finish on the butt is very easily marked - I knocked mine on the metal corner protector on our table and caused 3 small but deep chips that have gone down to the fibreglass. Also the edges on the centre joint are quite sharp - I caught the shaft joint against the butt when putting the cue away and shaved a line into the gloss top coat. This is cosmetic damage only and I will attempt to repair over christmas.

Great cue for the price. Saying that I have several top name cues meucci, Lacuassi, stealth and players. I purchased this cue out of necessity and now it is my favorite many of opponents have fallen under this grey sword.
