These boots are made of really sturdy stuff, the leather reminds me a great deal of Dr Marten boots, they have to be laced in a similar way too to get the desired fit too.However, these shoes are fairly difficult to break in, again akin to Dr Martens. Your heels will probably end up with blisters and you might find the leather digging in to the top ridge of your foot. I personally had to use a hammer to break in the extremely tough leather more easily but I would advise that -if you do this- you proceed with caution and not use excessive force as to risk breaking the stitching of the rim of the bottom gristle.Still very happy with my purchase and they look great with a pair of jeans bloused around the top of the boot with boot bands or just below the second eyelet.
