Jack Johnson - Strum & Sing: for Ukulele

If your a fan of Jack Johnson, this is the book you'll want. This is a collection of 41 of his songs, The pages are easy to read and play to. The print is larger in size and the chords are easy to read. One should take note that this book does not have strum patterns listed. If you enjoy any of the songs listed in the book you will have to research You Tube, your favorite ukulele site, or other locations to obtain them.If this book had some strum patterns listed I would have given it five stars.The book itself is bound well, has an above average glossy cover, and should hold up for years of playing.

Jack Johnson is my favorite acoustic folk guitarist and this book will help me to play his songs on the ukulele. Well written and set up for the style of music that I perform myself in public. Lyrics with chords. Perfect.

I started playing the uke about 3 months ago and being a huge Jack Johnson fan decided this was a must. It's a great book easy to follow and has a good selection of songs. Wish there were more like this for some of the more contemporary artists.

Basically, this is a book full of chord sheets with lyrics and nothing else. There are no tabs for fingerpicking, no strum patterns for playing the chords, etc. If you listen to the songs and play along, it's useful enough to have the chords at least. Not really what I was hoping for. There are several websites that have chord sheets and lyrics for free - just saying.One more note - books like this, cookbooks, etc. really ought to be spiral bound or something where they stay open to the page you need. You have to pretty much open it to the song you want to play then pin it down or step on the spine to get it to not flop closed immediately. Not a player friendly format at all.

My son loves Jack Johnson and was super excited to receive this book. However, he did indicate that a CD of the songs would have helped him hear what his ukulele should sound like when he plays the songs.

Book was really good. It had some nice songs. I knew most of the songs. The chords were correct. THE BOOK WAS DAMAGED WHEN I GOT IT FROM PRINTING CUT. SOME OF THE PAGES WERE NOT CUT EVENLY WITH THE OTHERS SO I WILL NOW HAVE TO TRY AND EVEN THEM UP WITH SCISSORS. I am not happy about this at all. I would recommend buying this Book but it will not sit in stand properly due to this problem. It's not Amazons fault but the fault of whom the book was sent from.

Love Jack Johnson music...easy to use book...I knew all the songs. Much better way to learn when you know the songs

A lot of songs and a good selection. The only thing I would add Is strumming patterns. Great if you like Jack Johnson!

A good collection of Jack Johnson's songs arranged for ukulele. However many of them are in a different key to the original in order to make use of easier chord shapes. This makes it impossible to play along to the original recording and a little more difficult to sing along to if you are used to the original key. This would have received 5 stars if all songs were in the original key.

My hubby asked for this as a gift, he's really please with the book. lots of song choices a must for any Jack Johnson fans,
