Alex Discover Learn to Dress Monkey Kids Art and Craft Activity

I bought this for my 2 year old grandson and he immediately loved it! It's very well made: there are no raw fabric edges, everything is very well put together and it has a nice weight to it. The buttons, zipper, etc, are easy enough for a child to manipulate. I especially like that the zipper is easy to pull. Some of the other toys had zippers that were attached in a way that required the child to hold the fabric while pulling the zipper, which is a 2-handed task, something most 2 year olds could not do. This is an easy one. Also, ALL his clothing comes off: shoes, socks, jumper and shirt. Very nifty. I know that my grandson will enjoy this for a long time and then his younger brother, who is now just 6 months old, will enjoy it also. It's a wonderful, sturdy TOY as well as an educational tool.Someone mentioned the button holes being too small, but that was not the case on the one I received. They aren't especially loose, but they seem appropriately sized to require a bit of effort without frustrating the child. And the buttonholes are nicely finished also, so there are no hanging threads to trim off.Not sure if it's washable or not, I cannot remember, and nobody mentioned it in their reviews, I just checked. I think you could hand wash the clothing, however .Definitely buy this over the other options, I'm glad I did.

I ordered this toy for my son who is 16 months old. It came today and I was super surpirsed at how large the toy is, how cute it is, and how many different activities it actually has. I haven't given it to my son yet, as I'm waiting for Christmas, but I'm just sure he's going to love it! The buttons and zipper pull are the perfect size for tiny fingers and I love that his shoes and socks come off! This was definately a good purchase and I'm so glad that this is the one I chose for my son. The details on the toy are really impressive and the quality is just as impressive. For the price, this was definately a great purchase. I'm a very satisfied customer!

I bought this as a gift for my grandsons and it's the cutest thing! I am sure both my grandsons would agree. It's bright and cuddly, and also is great for teaching body parts. It's big enough to sit in a child size chair, yet not so big that a 2 year old can't carry it around. All the little clothes come off, including the socks and shoes, and it also has a teeny banana that is velcroed to one of the monkey's hands.The first monkey I ordered came with one shoe but was immediately replaced by Amazon. I didn't send it back, gave it to another little boy I know. I then ordered two more for my grandsons. As a child development specialist, this toy is a favorite.

I bought this for my 4 1/2 year old daughter who will be starting Kindergarten soon and still has difficulty with fastening her pants. I'm very pleased. I thought the $30+ price tag was a bit steep, but when I pulled this kitty out of the box I understood why it cost a little more. It's huge! (This is the regular size. They do offer a GIANT size as well.) The colors are bright and the body is soft enough for my little girl to sleep with. She LOVES this toy and is eager to dress her kitty, not realizing she is teaching HERSELF. It includes buttons, a zipper, snaps, a belt loop on the back, removable socks and shoes, loop/button closure, and others. I would definitely recommend this toy to fellow parents/caregivers!

My daughter loves monkey dolls so this was a no-brainer. The doll itself is big, bright, and well made. The only real downside to this learning doll is that some of the clothing is difficult for little hands to get back on, in particular the shoes and socks. My daughter loves taking them off but at 20 months she can't quite yet get them back on. Also I wish the specific areas of focus were labeled on the clothing, like "BUTTON" or "SNAP" or "ZIPPER" etc...Overall this has turned out to be a good purchase that should last for a long time. My daughter loves her ALEX monkey and she's learning, and well, that's exactly what I bought this doll for.

I wanted a dressing doll for my son who has some motor skill delays. This toy looked like the best of the ones on the market. I had a Dapper Dan as a kid that I loved to work on, but this is nothing like what I remember. The clothes on the monkey come fully off, so what do my kids do, they take off the clothes and leave then all over the house. On top of the the only tasks I found to be anything like real life were the buttons. The zipper only slide from side to side, it isn't a full zipper like on a jacket. What is the point if you can't practice a full zipper??? The snap is plastic rather than the metal snaps found on real clothes. The socks and shoes are completely impractical. The feet are just stumps on the ends of the legs so you can't really practice putting on socks. And the shoes fall off so easily it is difficult to do anything with them, much less practice tying. And finally, there is the banana. That was a ridiculous idea to include a banana on the monkey's hand. I had to cut it off. I even had a difficult time dressing the monkey in his shirt with that banana in his hand much less a small child fitting the shirt sleeve over it. The only saving graces to this dressing doll were the buttons and learning to line up snaps. But I could have made a few cloth scraps with those functions for a much cheaper price.

I bought it for my 2 years old grandniece. I search to see the less expensive learning toy for her age, the ALEX Toys Little Hands Learn To Dress had the best amount of interaction for my little grandniece. I found it the best match for my search. First, because I loved the concept. Secondly, this is a very nice material for a price that is worthy. Also, the Fabric is great. I am sure she will enjoy to learn while playing with the clothes, the shoes and all the tasks this toy will display for her. In the beginning, I was not glad it is a monkey. I would like a boy or girl version, instead of animals. However, I liked the monkey, it is funny. Great learning interaction. Great price.
