Gets the rocks nice and shiny!
We are new to rock tumbling, and this stage 5 grit was fun to play with. It is a very fine powder, and it gives the rocks a nice shine! It really does work nicely. This is a nice sized container that will tumble several loads of rocks. We ran it for 5 days with rocks that had been through stage 4 on speed 1. I'm looking forward to using it again!

Excellent polishing grit
The Komestone step 5 polishing grit is amazing. Steps 1-4 took my stones with rough edges, and smoothed them out, then step 5 polished them up. I've had great results with their products and I highly recommend their refill kits. Their customer service is also wonderful. I've had questions, and they always respond within 24 business hours to answer my questions which is greatly appreciate.

Underwhelming results
I was hoping to get more impressive results from this fine grit. After doing 4 rounds of tumbling with 1-4 grits, I gave this a try on speed 1 for 7 days. Perhaps I should have included a drop or two of oil, or been much more careful about the rocks I tumbled (as some may have had small fissures). But they don’t feel any smoother nor do they look more finely polished. I’ll try again with a new batch and hope for better results. Otherwise it seems like it is a waste of time and money. I will read other reviews to see if I am missing something or a step that might improve my results. 🤞
