When I was considering the pricing for the desk, I wasn't really expecting it to live up to the name "gaming desk" as for the most part, specifically designed gaming desks tend to be prices considerably higher than a standard office desk.On first impressions, I was happy with just how sturdy it was once assembled but when I moved my gaming set-up over onto it, I really got a sense of how well designed it is for the purpose of gaming.The desk has a large raised stand above the main desktop which allows you to have the monitor slightly higher than normal, this lets you look straight forwards from a gaming chair at the normal seating height and be more or less in the perfect position. An additional benefit to this is the space underneath the monitor leaves you just enough space to fit a Series S underneath along with a controller next to it.In terms of practicality it's great, you get plenty of space on the main top for keyboard and mouse without having to struggle to fit other bits and bobs on there. The side area also has three shelves and a small drawer which can be used to store smaller electronic devices or cables etc... the shelves are able to support a respectable amount of weight and the bottom one is designed to allow airflow to the computer, this is something that's often overlooked even in high end desks so to have it on a budget oriented desk is really considerate. I'm not overly sure if this would fit under a smaller bunk bed as it's nearing 4ft tall but there is a chance it would with some of them so worth grabbing a tape measure to check before purchasing.To sum up, I'm pretty impressed with the overall design, practicality and value for money this gives you. I would recommend this over even some of the higher priced ones I've had as it offers more than usual.

There is some positives and negatives to having a metal desk of this material, it holds a lot of weight, technically, though in this format it is quite wobbly. Not being wooden panels, there is air exposure to help cool down systems that run hot especially as we get into the summer. It's also much easier to see mess around it (looking at you, teenage children) which makes it suitable for things like bedrooms where space is sacrificed for a personal computer and desk area.I would definitely class this as something of a "den desk" in that it serves a function. The desk area is slightly limiting by the raised monitor space, which may or may not be to your liking but is designed for a traditional desktop experience.The openness of the shelves lends itself to being a work space for those that work with computers as well, so if you have garage or office space for work this might also be a valid option on the cheap.Yes, like usual making it up is a pain and screws and putting things in place is awkward and easy to bend, but it does a job for a price.
