Quality and Contents
Seems to work well... The carbon filter is on the side facing the back of the unit. On the front side, there is the normal thin black fabric material that acts as a lint, hair, and dust first stage filter. It came with two (2) extra first stage filters. Greatly appreciated. I did not notice any reduction in air flow due to the carbon filter. The fit was perfect, no binding or loose fitting. Worth the price I believe. Good luck.

Complete set of filters
I was all ready to give this product a bad review. The last set of filters I bought (different vendor) advertised a charcoal filter in addition to the HEPA filter and pre-filter, but came without the charcoal filter. Subsequent research appeared to reveal that the charcoal filter was no longer provided by Alen, so the aftermarket brands followed suit, but still used the old photos showing the charcoal filter.I was very surprised when this set of filters arrived…with a charcoal filter! There’s some debate on whether or not the small amount of charcoal actually does anything to remove odors (better to be measured in pounds rather than ounces) but I don’t care. I’m just happy to find a product that provides what is advertised!

Works fine
These filters seem to work as well as the Alen filters, at a fraction of the cost.I try to buy U.S., and I try to buy local. But these filters are simply a bargain.On the bright (patriotic) side, the Alen unit was highly rated when we purchased it, and it lives up to expectations. We live on the edge of 300 acres of forrest and farm land, with pollen and dust galore. The filtration unit, with either Alen filters or these filters, improves the quality of our air in our home significantly.

Does not return filter status to normal.
The unit gives a “red” filter signal when these filters are used, I assume because of restricted air flow. Price was attractive though.
