Hormel Compleats Meatloaf with Potatoes & Gravy, 9-Ounce Microwavable Bowls (Pack of 6)

Very good flavor and generous portion of meat. I add a side biscuit or roll bc there's always plenty of gravy, also some canned peas while heating in the microwave (as I nearly never eat enough green vegetables...lol)....potatoes are delicious plain or w your favorite seasonings. I've purchased this item several times-the pkg is always in perfect shape as well.

The meat was pretty good but was way too spicy. The potatoes were not creamy enough. If I could make a recommendation Hormel, I would include roasted potatoes and carrots with your meatloaf meal. Nevertheless, the meal is tasty, filling, and nourishing, and perfect for buying in bulk. It is excellent for a ready to eat meal option that doesn't need to be refrigerated. If you buy these in bulk and control how much you eat, I promise you, you most likely will eat like a king for weeks if not months. This is also great in these hard times to avoid the hassle of going to the grocery store. And buying these in bulk is a lot cheaper as well! These are full protein meals with a side and is a great way to start any night. Perfect for work, school, camping, hotels, and so much more! I am Jewish, but I can't afford kosher meat and have no access to kosher meat. As the saying goes, the body is a temple. I personally don't believe it would be treating my body as a temple if I don't eat any meat. Mental illness has been directly associated with people who don't eat meat. So, as a Jew without a lot of money, I am choosing to get these meals. And I am very satisfied! For The Sabbath, it is a great way to start Friday Night and have a complete meal, given that I am in a lonely, stressful situation. If you are Jewish and can afford to keep kosher, you should and you shouldn't get this, but if you are a Jew like me with a very little amount of money, or anyone who is limited with money, and you want easy, ready to eat meals that are nourishing and that you can SURVIVE off of, these meals are perfect and will fill you and make you happy. If you have barely any money and are stressed, try these meals! You won't be disappointed and will be happy you did. A great way to change the mood of the night and to nourish your soul. Hormel Compleats have their place in my life. I dont rely on these for regular use, but boy do they come in handy for a quick light meal as is, or for use in emergency situations. Basically a meal, ready to eat. Eat it cold or heat it up. Of course heated up is preferred. I recommend trying different ones out. I like the Turkey and dressing one the most, but the meatloaf and mashed potatoes is pretty good. "Good" is a funny descriptor here. We're not talking gourmet. It is shelf stable food. So it is good as far as all that goes. Also, not big portions. If you eat like a bird, this may be enough for you. If were eating it as a dinner, I would need a whole lot more. So plan on having sides with it add volume. Times I eat it as is is when dinner is a ways off, and I hadnt really eaten much during the day. I want something.. but I dont want snack food. This gives me that real food vibe, and doesnt take time or effort to prepare. Keep expectations low and you may find these to be rather delightful. I dont buy them all, and I dont necessarily like them all. But I have a few that I tend to crave, this being one of them. They have A LOT to choose from, in this listing and other listings. So as I wrote earlier, just give different ones a try as you may really dislike some and find that there are a few you really like.

Good if you can't stand long periods to cook. Easier to open than a can if you don't have an electric opener and have arthritis or difficulties with hand muscles or finger dexterity. Taste and texture obviously subjective.

Okay, all else aside and with no filters on my thoughts, this particular Hormel meal is just one I will forever avoid. To be fully honest as well, I ordered two boxes of this flavor as well as six others and set them aside in our hurricane locker simply to have meals ready that are easy to prepare and don't require refrigeration We all know up front that these aren't advertised as gourmet dishes so with that being said they're advantage is that they have a decent shelf life and don't take up that much room and are quick and easy to prepare and if need be can even be eating cold. I've tried many of their products over the years and to date I've never had one, until now, that I would simply rather go without a meal than to have to eat it. Now enter their meatloaf I'm with that I can honestly say that I will set these all the way in the back as I ordered a total of 14, and they would and or will be the last ones standing and I promise that I will do all I can to gift them away to others that don't have any provisions in their hurricane locker. Please make it be alive but I'd much rather someone else benefit from any nutritional value this particular meal May have. I honestly can't remember the last time I had one of their meatloaf dishes but I do not remember them being like this in that it tasted like a compressed slab of meat product that I honestly don't believe my dog would have eaten and are chosen over top of the canned food that we currently give him. And I thought was quickly put to the test and neither the cat nor the dog chose to eat the meatloaf from this package and opted instead to eat their canned wet food prior to and then just casually sniffed at it and licked I meatloaf well continuously giving us that why did you do this to me look on their face before walking away and leaving it in their dish No, had to put this out and this out only then maybe it would have been a different story and they would have eaten it but I honestly didn't think that would have been fair to either of them. The other meals that Hormel have available are, simply put, best student or hiking and camping trips as well as filling avoid and your stomach quickly without any preparation and virtually no cleanup. For this purpose they are ideally suited and are comparable and taste and flavor to many of the MREs you'll find for sale these days. All in all the Hormel products are suitable for any of the above specified needs and uses, however this is the one meal package that I will never purchase again and cannot in good conscious recommend anyone else purchase either
