Review of Silver MTRVR Hike Chair
As per the title, I bought the Hike chair. These reviews seem to cover the entire range, so I'm pleased to report I'm delighted with the quality, comfort and ease of use of the cheapest chair in the range. I'm 6ft, 200lb and knocking 70, and find it fits my needs almost perfectly. As others have mentioned, it isn't the lightest chair available, but being able to sit on it 30 seconds after pulling it out of your bag, and get on the bus or whatever 20 seconds after standing back up more than makes up for this. It's not a LazyBoy, but they're not very portable when all's said and done, and I can sit in this chair for an hour or so in comfort whilst birdwatching, waiting for a train, for my wife, etc. If you are, like me, blessed with knees that have retired due to age, motorbikes and inappropriate jumping as a yoof, it is easy to sit down and get up from the chair by grabbing either side of the seat material and using your arms to lower or push yourself up as required. I haven't tested it on a beach or in mud yet, but it doesn't seem to sink into soft surfaces like my other chairs do, which is a bonus. For those who have mentioned that the lock buttons are hard to push in, they do get easier but if you pull the end of the telescopic leg gently towards you as you push the button in it makes it easier. Highly recommended! I'm having to buy another as this one seems to have been commandeered by the aforementioned wife.

Excellent Purchase!
The camping chair's quality and construction justify its exorbitant cost. It is effortless to construct and disassemble, and it is packaged with a transportable case.I would recommend it to anyone, and I am eager to acquire the camping table version.

Solid build, but tad expensive.
This has got to be the most solidly built backpacking chair I have and I own about half a dozen backpacking chairs. It's also the quickest to deploy as the others I own are the shock corded pole type whereas this one is of a telescopic design. It's of a very very high quality, super solid feeling when set up and very well designed. It is a bit pricey, but can be the way with some backpacking equipment. I'm 5ft 8 and felt I tiny bit of pressure on the back of my thighs off the seat when sat in it but it was perfectly acceptable and comfortable especially when you slouch back in it. And as you can see, dogs love it, my two poodles where having a great time! You can't beat having a chair at the end of a long day in the hills to enjoy your hot brew. It's super fast to set up and the same when talking down and really high quality materials and build but with a premium price.

Love it
These are heavy but great quality and great design. I really like the MTRVR products. I've got two chairs, two tables and the stand light. All heavy but good quality.

Legs would not lock into place- totally useless
When you pay £190 for a camp chair, one would expect the seller to carry out a quality check. But no, MTRVR just sent out a junk -ready for the local waste tip site.I seriously cannot articulate the sheer disappointment

Compact, comfy and light enough to carry.
Great little chair to take hiking and camping. Fits in my backpack bottle pouch.

Could have been a new design icon!
I am disappointed with this chair for one specific reason, and that is great design but with wrong material choice. This chair was £60 when ordering, but has been increased to £100. For £10 to £30 more you can get one of the design icons such as a Helinox or what I also own, an Alite Mayfly, which weighs just under 700g.The weird thing is, this MTRVR chair packs almost as small as the Mayfly, so I wondered as to why it weighed just over 1.3 Kg for being so compact. That's almost twice the weight of the Mayfly! The Mayfly frame is made of ACTUAL aircraft grade aluminium, and as such the frame can be made very compact due to being VERY strong. A bit like very good pro grade tent poles. This MTRVR however seems to be made of some kind of iron alloy, and feels similar to the cheap thick frames in standard car camping full sized chairs. This is a real pity, as the design I think is very good, where all legs are extendible and make for a very comfortable chair when erected. It can be assembled in ten seconds and I find it to be a perfect height. All the legs pivot on a very robust metal (looks like aluminium alloy) central hub that allows them to fold in or out.So here we have a very novel and brilliant design and very compact foldable chair where all the legs and frame make up one part, where the seat cover is also attached. But it weighs 1.36 Kg, hence ruining the chance of it being a hikers chair relegating it to car camping only. Which makes it very good for that use case as it is so compact, to be honest.I have full sized car camping chairs that are up to 4Kg and they are NOT marketed or look like they are meant to be compact. As far as I am concerned when it comes to camp chairs, compact means it should also be light.Upgrade the legs and frame to REAL aviation grade aluminium to give it enough strength and reduce the weight, then this could have been brilliant. If it was, then it would have been well worth the asking price and I am sure would be seen as good as Helinox and Alite. As it is...disappointing!

Excellent for the heavier person
I'm a bit on the large side and wanted something that would comfortably hold my weight and not feel like it was going to break after a few uses, this certainly ticks those boxes. The heavy metal construction made me feel confident that it wouldn't buckle or anything, the material is nicely secured to the metal posts with extra layers on the corners and it comes with a nice carrying bag.
