Fantastic Ink Pad - Beautiful Color
The Archival Ink Pads by Ranger are my favorite dye ink pads to use. Juicy and genuine to the color one expects by looking at the lid, these are so easy to use. The raised ink pad makes it quick and easy to ink any size/shape stamp. The raised pad encourages ink-to-paper and blending techniques, as well as any additional methods you want to try. Waterproof and smearproof. I love this line because the colors are sharp and strong - and they stay. The ink is not difficult to remove from stamps (will stain). However, it will provide decorative stains to your hands for a couple of days.I have found most of the Archival Ink Pads to be so juicy they can be used for embossing sometimes as well. They are clearly marked DYE and embossing typically requires a PIGMENT pad, but I have used these for embossing - achieving the best results on glossy paper.Bottom Line: I get consistently awesome results from these pads without much mess. One can stamp with these and use all sorts of media on top of the ink without fear of smearing or fading. If the pad is overly juicy, and that transfers to your project either use the juiciness to add some random embossing or hit the area with a heat gun for a few seconds. Make sure the heat gun is at least 4-6" away from your project and keep the stream of hot air moving, or you risk the ink bubbling or the whole thing catching fire. This ink pad arrived quickly with Prime shipping and has stood up well to all the abuse I have thrown at it, ready and waiting for more. A great purchase I would recommend.Tip: Store your ink pads upside down, so they rest on the lid instead of the bottom. Your pads will always be ready for use, and you will get a better impression with more ink. Storing the pads upside down will ensure your pads last a long time. :)

'Sup doodles -Ol' Stampin' Willy down at Willy's Stamp Emporium told me that Ranger Archival Ink is a super premium, high quality permanent ink. I specifically bought Ranger because it is one of the few acid-free archival quality ink pads available. I use it with my dojang (도장 - Korean name stamp) to put my name into all of my books. When the ink pad is wet, it works very well. Mine came dry as a bone, so I had to run down to Hobby Lobby (my own personal hell) to buy a replacement. Most of this stuff is marketed towards crafters, but it works good for regular stampin, too! I happen to think the pad on the VersaColor Pigment Ink Pad Assorted Colors and Sizes pigment stamps is a bit better, though.

Nice pad.
This is good quality ink that seems to be permament. I didn't try to remove it from paper with water, but will update if I notice it running. Had it a short time and the color is nice - not quite red or purplse but like a plum or grape. The pad is soft and the top separates and goes back on.

Beautiful, fun, works great
I use it for mixed media. As long as there's something solid behind the substrate, it'll be fine. For example, it won't stamp on canvas, unless there's something solid behind the stretched linen. I have enough stamp pads that I trade off. I don't know how many times it's usable. I bought mine in 2018. I've not pursued this hobby since last year. My stamp pad hasn't dried out. A black Ranger one seems dry. I'd need to replace it. I probably used black over all other colors. A purple one still has ink. I always get the type that has the same specifications, i.e., archival ink, waterproof, and acid free. Anyone, serious about their hobbies, csuch as journaling, greeting cards, collages, mixed media on wood, will likely want various colors of stamp pads and duplicates of preferred ones, like black.

Shipped damaged goods.
The product case was cracked, the label badly scratched, and yet the clear outer back and Amazon padded mailer were undamaged. Only clear way the damage could occur is if it was damaged before placing it in the clear outer bag by the independent seller, not an Amazon issue. Had to return the item and wait for a replacement. We love the Ranger products and have several dozen of the ink pads.
