Incredible slicer!
Amazing slicer at an incredible price! I had a previous version of this slicer and it held up under regular use for 15 years (mostly I make jerky and thin-sliced meats for Asian style dishes). So I bought this one as a replacement and it does not disappoint! Easy to use and cleans up nice. Will definitely buy again when this one goes out in another 15+ years!

Works very well
I almost didn't purchase this product due to the negative reviews that I read... but so far so good. I purchased this for the primary purpose of slicing homemade bread. After unboxing, setup and a bit of cleaning, I tried the slicer on a loaf that I baked yesterday. It worked very well.... no issues. The item is mostly made of plastic... but it still feels solid and well-constructed. The blade spins more slowly than I would have thought, but it is very sharp and cuts through thick bread crust easily. I look forward to trying this on other foods, like roast beef or ham. I think this is a very good value for the under $100 price.

Great value for money
Comments after using it for two years! Very useful product. Stainless steel is rust-proof. The thickness can be adjusted by yourself. We use it every month and save a lot of money on hot pot

Ok for the price
We had been thinking about a slicer, and I purchased this one for my spouse for Christmas based on the ratings on his site. It looked pretty cheap and plasticky; despite the description of being stainless, most of it is plastic. It was pretty easy to set up, although the instructions were not as clear as one would hope. We first tried slicing some aged country ham. It became clear right away that just sliding the meat through the slicer as instructed was not going to work. But by putting heavy pressure on the meat, we were able to get some slices, although uneven - with a lot of shreds along the way. A couple of days later, we tried a leftover prime rib and had better luck but, again, had to put a lot of pressure on the meat to hold it against the blade to get sort of even slices. I have ordered a non serrated blade to see if that makes a difference. Cleaning is easier than I expected. The blade goes off and on easily. So I’d say not great but adequate for the price.

Slicer motor dead I less than 90 days
The media could not be loaded. Slicer also is like weight, slides all over when using and is flimsy like a cheap plastic toy. Easy to clean but dangerous to use. No phone numbers or emails to contact seller. Number on paperwork is no longer valid. You have to contact the owner of chef mate which is called the Legacy cCmpany. Google it as amzn denied my last review I feel because I gave their number, beginning with 954 area code. In dealing with them they may allow me to get another product since I bought from amzn, but my intuition is I’m going to be out $91 for a very poorly constructed slicer. I’ll come back with a resolution when I hear back from the sellerAmzn people: you can reach chef mate AT ALL it’s not a responsible vendor, don’t block this review again please!1/10/23 UPDATE from Seller:Hi Julie,Yes, that is correct. Actually Better Than I Expected
UPDATE: I just used this to slice some homemade bacon today. I was worried that since bacon is kind of squishy that the slicer might just drag the meat into the blade and make a mess, but WOW. This thing goes through bacon like a laser. My bacon slab was about 2-1/2" thick, too, and the machine didn't even sound like it struggled. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars at this point - I'm thrilled with it, and that's rare for me to say!I've been wanting a slicer for years to make my venison jerky faster more and more uniformly than cutting it by hand with a chef's knife. I really wanted to find a used commercial slicer but even used they're crazy expensive and too big to store.I recently got into making bacon from scratch, curing raw pork belly and smoking it. That kind of amped up my desire for a slicer, but I really never thought these small "home model" units could cut it, so to speak. When Amazon had this on a Deal of the Day with free returns I figured I didn't have anything to lose and gave it a try.At first glance, it looks and feel like a toy. It's light and small, but the carriage runs smoothly and the motor and drive train sounded fine. I had a cooked boneless turkey breast from Costco so I threw that on the carriage and gave it a try. Wow... this thing peeled ribbons off that turkey as fast and I could go back and forth. I was really pretty impressed with how well it worked. It will dial down to almost paper-thin slices.Yep, it's kind of a pain to clean, as is my meat grinder, sausage stuffer, and anything else that contacts raw meat, but I think that's just part of the price of convenience. The biggest drawback in cleaning that I see is that the drive gear for the blade is mounted to the back of the blade and coated in grease, so every time you take the blade off to clean it you have to deal with that. Other wise everything disassembles pretty easily for a soap and hot water cleanup.I'm generally the type that will pay extra and get the very best, but honestly I think for my needs, this little slicer does a bang-up job. It's small enough to store easily but still gets the job done. I'm looking forward to deer season in a few weeks so I can make some more jerky with it.
