A few weeks later I had an email saying my report was ready. Got a very long and detailed report on hundreds of genetic conditions, traits and ethnicity. It’s going to take some time to ingest, but already I can see that there is some useful stuff there -like info suggesting I would experience a chemoprotective effect from aspirin as a strategy for reducing the risk of certain cancers so that makes taking daily aspirin worthwhile. The kit was easy to use. Just use two swabs to brush the inside of your cheeks and pop them in the tube and return in the box and envelope provided. They let you know when the sample is received and timeframe for when the results will be ready. My results were ready pretty quickly. There is lots of information to digest. I loved the ancestry where it tells you what parts of the world you are connected with. The health information was okay, most of mine were average in terms of conditions but I think you also have to take onboard lifestyle factors. They knew my height, hair and eye colour as well as my blood group. Also said I was overweight which is also true. The only thing it got wrong was that it said I was right handed whereas I have always been a leftie but I am ambidextrous with some things. It also tells you what medications you can take and whether you need a lower or higher dose to be effective. It really is interesting and I feel it was definitely worth the cost. You also get lifetime updates as well. If you are curious, I suggest you go for it. I was not disappointed.

I bought this kit for health reasons as I was less concerned about ancestry and surprisingly the results changed my mind. Firstly, I like that the company is EU based for Data Privacy concerns. I also liked that apart from my email address they knew nothing about me and still don’t want to gather information from me directly, so everything had to be obtained from my sample. Laboratory time to results was very quick considering the holidays too, it seemed to take about three weeks from the time they received the sample to releasing the results. The health results and physical descriptions were very accurate. I found out I was a carrier for a little known deficiency for a condition that I knew my brother had experienced in his childhood. The results for metabolism were as I expected and even my complex disease risk was suspected. The internet site is easy to use and well laid out. I like that it’s not an app, that reports are downloadable and that future updates are free. The autosomal information is similar to other providers on the market (they seem to go back about 6-8 generations) and I was surprised by my results but it doesn’t tell you what generation the different ethnicity appears or even drill down into any country/regional level which is a disappointment. The haplogroup information was the most interesting new discovery for me but so very basic that it was a dead end instantly. It was nice that they provide both the paternal Y chromosome lineage and the maternal mtDNA lineage in the cost if you are a man. My sister used a different company and did not get this information at all so I feel lacking in knowledge here. My friend used another company and her maternal lineage data was very comprehensive. I have since bought another kit from another company which provides far more information (but charges for each bundle and the parental lineage is one or the other not both). The presentation is very basic and too much scientific speak, not really worded to be user friendly. I feel at the moment this is more useful for health (which is why I bought it) but has the potential to be much better if they work on the detail in the genetics (haplogroup and more detail in the autosomal genetic data) and presentation so it is more tailored for the consumer. Unlike most consumers, I wasn’t looking to connect with relatives so can’t comment on any other aspects of those features.

Non l'hanno trovate, ma devo dire che hanno dimostrato enorme professionalità per cercare di capire come trovare una soluzione per le loro future analisi. Sono rimasto favorevolmente impressionato, tutta la mia stima a questo team di ricerca. Dal punto di vista della procedura, è molto meglio di quanto letto nelle recensioni precedenti alla mia: il cofanetto arriva con tutte le istruzioni per sputacchiare nel boccino la propria saliva, fino al livello necessario. all'interno del confanetto c'è la custodia per rispedire tutto. Basta scrivere due righe a tellmegen che risponde subito con il codice di spedizione. con quello si va in posta (o in un centro convenzionato con tellmegen, è molto capillare, praticamente molti dei bar tabacchi possono farlo). Non si paga nulla, non è vero che si debba spendere un euro per la spedizione, lo assicuro. Spedito si scrive nuovamente a tellmegen che il pacco è stato spedito. io ho fatto l'ordine il 9 novembre. considerando il tempo perchè mi fosse consegnato, e poi una settimanella abbondante prima che facessi il test e lo portassi in tabaccheria (e il tempo necessario affinchè il pacchettino arrivasse a tellmegen), sono stati velocissimi. forse troppo.... questo è il dubbio. peccato perchè alla base queste aziende hanno la possibilità di speculare su un bisogno dell'utente di andare a fondo sulla propria salute. io la mia la conosco già e bene, ma avevo la minima aspettativa di capire a livello di nutrizione e di farmacologia (oltrechè sull'aspetto origine geografica ma per questo tema ci sono test più focalizzati) qualcosa in più del mio organismo.

Das Produkt wurde gut und rechtzeitig geliefert. Was mich zuerst etwas beunruhigt hat war dass man die Anleitung und Anmeldung nur über einen QR-Code über das Handy abrufen kann. Im Nachhinein ist mir erst eingefallen, dass man sich den QR-Code über Whatsapp auf seinen Rechner (WhatsappWeb) schicken kann und es somit angenehmer ist die Daten zu lesen und etwas abzuspeichern. Vielleicht hilft das ja anderen Kunden. Auch war ich zuerst verunsichert als ich gelesen habe dass entweder ein Etikett beigelegt ist und wenn nicht man dann eins von dem Unternehmen erhält. Ich wusste zuerst nicht ob jetzt ein Etikett dabei ist oder nicht ob ich zu doof bin es zu finden. Ich habe daraufhin den Hersteller kontaktiert und der hat mir dann sofort geholfen und mitgeteilt dass das DHL-Label dann automatisch generiert wird. Wenn ich mich richtig erinnere braucht man aber einen Drucker, es geht nicht als QR-Code. Es ist leider kein Tracking dabei bei dem Label ich hatte riesen Angst dass das kleine Päckchen verloren geht, aber es ist heil angekommen. Im Laufe des Ausfüllens hatte ich noch mehrere andere Bedenken aber der Hersteller bzw. Kundensupport antwortet sofort, man sich sich direkt an diesen wenden. Andere Hersteller antworten ja teilweise garnicht. Ganz wichtig ist noch dass man in das Röhrchen bis zur Markierung spuckt bis die Flüssigkeit exklusive Schaum die Markierung erreicht, sonst kriegt das Labor eventuell nicht genug Material. Ich habe solange reingespuckt bis die Flüßigkeit den Strich erreicht hat und der Schaum dann noch drüber ging, später hat sich der Schaum dann gelegt und es war Flüßigkeit über den Strich im Röhrchen, aber das scheint nicht geschadet zu haben. Jetzt bin ich gespannt auf das Ergebnis. Achja, ich habe den Test während einer Aktion für 99€ gekauft, das fand ich preislich ganz okay über Amazon, da der Test über den Hersteller selbst teurer war. Update: Ich habe die Ergebnisse jetzt erhalten und bin absolut geflashed, das hatte ich nicht erwartet. Einige Aspekte möchte ich gerne teilen. Der Test hat z.b. meine Blutgruppe richtig erkannt, was ich total interessant finde weil ich damals einen komplizierten Test im Labor machen lassen musste und der Hersteller einfach nur ein bisschen Speichel gebraucht hat. Ich finde das auch für Menschen gut die Angst vor Nadeln haben, weil mein Bruder z.B. panische Angst vor Nadeln hat und nicht weiss welche Blutgruppe er hat, der würde safe lieber diesen Test machen als sich pieksen zu lassen. Auch hat der Test erkannt dass ich eine Laktoseintolleranz habe. Auch da musste ich meine Ärztin damals anbetteln mich zu testen und musste dann selbst glaube ich 60 Euro für den Laktoseintolleranztest zahlen, hier bei diesem Test war das einfach dabei. Was ich noch interessant fand war dass dastand dass ich eine Veranlagung zu D3 Mangel habe und so war es auch, in der Klinik in der ich arbeite werden die Patienten auf D3-Mangel getestet und ich habe mich mittesten lassen und ich hatte einen extremen D3 Mangel. Auch meine Haarstruktur hat der Test richtig erkannt. Ich bin der einzige der lockige Haare hat der Test richtig erkannt, ich meinte das Labor hat kein Foto von mir gesehen oder so, ich finde das total interessant. Bei mir ist das gottseidank nicht eingetroffen und ich bin über das Alter hinaus jetzt wo das noch in dem Ausmaß kommen könnte. Die Veranlagung ist wahrscheinlich da aber ist bei mir nicht eingetroffen. Ich sage das auch für die Leute die vielleicht eine Wahrscheinlichkeit für Sachen haben die ihnen große Angst machen, denn es muss nicht eintreten. Das sind nur ein paar Fakten die ich als interessant erachtet habe und teilen wollte. Update: Ich habe noch eine Ernährungsberatung dazu gebucht.
