Never Too Old for a Barbie Movie – Nostalgic Fun!
Barbie movies are timeless! My college-aged daughter loved them as a kid, and we still enjoy watching them together for a dose of nostalgia. The other night, we had a much-needed Barbie movie night, and it was just as fun as ever. Perfect for all ages!

My kids AND I adore this movie!
I challenge you to watch this and not get the catchy songs stuck in your head! This is a great movie and both my girls (ages 2 and 4) love it. And i must admit, when they want to watch it, i often watch with them. There aren't scary scary parts in it like in some of the other Barbie movies. The main "bad guy" is Preminger, and while he does kidnap the main character, he doesn't look scary like some of the other antagonists in other Barbie films. The storyline moves along quickly and even moreso because of the great songs. My husband and I got so addicted to the songs, we purchased the Barbie CD that has the songs from this movie as well as a few of the other songs from other movies.Overall, this movie is a keeper and while other barbie movies can get tiring to watch, this one gets a lot of replay in our home. My only gripe with this is that most of the parents are not present. Erika's parents are not around (we can assume they have passed away, though the movie makes no mention of it...just to say that they took out loans that Erika now has to repay by herself). Also, Princess Anneliese's father has passed away and her mom is now left in charge of the kingdom. The kingdom has run out of gold, so her mom tries to marry Anneliese off to a neighboring king. I wish they had created a queen who was quite so gullible and helpless.

Worth it
Me and my bestfriend are buying all of the barbie movies on Amazon prime (age 21 here) because you can't go wrong with classics. Very much worth it, better the classics then what we have today. Barbie isn't even looking like Barbie anymore

Five stars from my family
This was my favorite movie as a young girl! I watched it everyday after school and danced and sung along until dinner time. I loved it so much that I had the vhs tape, matching dolls, Wedding play set, and sing along Sarafina. I recently remembered my former love for the movie. Overcome with nostalgia, I looked it up and behold, Amazon had it for $9.99. Feelings of familiarity, warmth, and comfort washed over me as I read the description. I bought it instantly and crawled into bed with my baby sisters, ages two and four. The movie started. I began to smile. It was just as I remembered and, perhaps, even a little better. The movie follows royal Princess Annalise, who lives in a huge castle with her mom and her maidservants. Her dad passed away awhile back, and she was next in line to receive her crown. The mine in her town was robbed by a man named Priminger who worked for her and his two dimwitted minions. No one knew who robbed the mine-- they only knew that the kingdom was now poor. The Queen, Princess Annalise's mom, made arrangements for Annalise to marry King Dominic, a King from afar, to save the kingdom. He was a really nice man, but Princess Annalise was clearly inlove with someone else-- her servant and very best friend Julian.Longing for a break, Princess Annalise and Julian discretely went into town to get away from it all. As Princess Annalise walked through the streets, she heard a woman- Erica- singing a beautiful song. When the song came to a close, Princess Annalise added money to a can Erica had on the ground. The two looked at each other and noticed their uncanny resemblance. They talked about their lives and wished they both could be 'free'. At the end of the conversation, Princess Annalise thanked Erica for her time and told her that she would send for her to sing at her castle. They both went their separate ways. When Princess Annalise goes missing, Julian calls for Erica, who is practically identical to Annalise, to pretend to be Annalise until she reappears. Will Erica get into trouble or will she help save the day?In fear of spoiling the plot of the movie, I won't go anymore in depth about the movie. Priminger, who robbed the royal mine, is a character that looks a little creepy (you can google him from images) so this may frighten younger children. My four year old sister calls him the 'bad mean man', but this could also be because she loves care bears, strawberry shortcake, and other frilly rainbows-and-daisy like shows. My sister's and I adore this movie and I earnestly hope you and your family will too.
