Will the 10.5 diameter dome lid fit this pot?

Yes, if that is the same lid that comes with the 5.5-qt. stainless series Dutch Oven. I have this stockpot and the Dutch Oven; the two lids fit both pots.

Can i preheat this empty pot with the handle in the oven for 500f? i am thinking to use this as a dutch oven replacement to make sourdough bread. thx.

Don’t know if it will ruin the finish, but it’s not very big. Doubt it would come out as good as a Dutch Oven, but I’m not a bread expert. It’s great for a small soup or stew!
