Awesome product, it has definitely improved my Quaker parrot’s skin - she is a feather plucker, has been her whole life since I adopted her. She wears a collar, but she also suffers from dry skin. I’ve been putting it on her legs and it’s working remarkably well. It seems to have improved her mood too. Either that or she’s just feeling better so she’s in a better mood. Whatever the case, I recommend this product. :)

Ok, so I felt timid at first because of the varied reviews regarding the water additive and it not having gone through a few years to see there are no side effects. I decided after last years most horrific hormonal season (we’ve been through many with no issues and guided training etc). The season started with a close call from a Too that never bites and after a vet visit to make sure all was ok my vet and I spoke and because my Too has been with me for 35 yrs now (I have had him since a small child) the vet felt we should be past any issues this severe. I decided after speaking with my husband we should try it and see if we notice any difference. After receiving it I didn’t think Joey would allow me to give his dosage via dropper, but he takes everything else so I told him it was time for his meds (he takes his with me every day) he stepped up, cuddled, opened up and it went down the hatch and I got a “thank you” and kiss. He LOVES the flavor. I decided to put it in his water because the oil stays on the too like a slight skim in spots and he dunks his muffin or other edible while I sip coffee with him. I would say within a couple of days I didn’t have any signs of discomfort from him. My husband who loves Joey and takes him for bicycle rides around the block on his harness has felt the “hurt feelings” not from the aggression but because his cycling buddy was down and not himself finally tried for a step up when Joey went to him and it was like he wanted to apologize all at once. He snuggled started sticking his tongue out for kisses and said “let’s go” which is his cue he wanted outside. They went for a ride and it’s love at first sight over and over. THANK YOU for such a reliable and neutral product. We don’t use anything with chemicals or something store bought that’s not all natural. This saved a lot of heartache and hurt feelings in both sides. Do give this a try if you’re having issues and you’ve tried the normal first response fixes. I’ve raised large birds since 5 with my grandmother and I have 8 myself (some were hers and I kept them when she passed because they knew me) I keep filters running in their rooms that I’m in all day and each set is out with their friends so it works well. I wish we had this in the 80s when she was training and breeding. She rescued many birds and rehomed them until she was in her 70s. Many behavioral issues etc and I wonder if a little calming dose of this might have eased what they were dealing with after trying many different things. I have shared this with quite a few of my students with birds and friends. I let them know how it worked for me and some saw the difference but I tell them that I don’t know the long term studies but being it’s natural I’m confident with what I’ve read and the reviews I’ve seen.

The listing says this product can be administered orally or topically. However, the package instructions say specifically that it is to be administered topically only. I would like a product that can be used topically for my bird. The listing should reflect that it can only be used orally.

This is an excellent product. My blue and gold macaw had developed a bad feather picking problem and was very nervous. I purchased this product on Jan 25. It took about 2 to 2 1/2 months to see the feathers come back well and are continuing to improve steadily. His nervousness and screaming have stopped right after the first bottle and his appetite has improved greatly and he has gained weight. I would very highly recommend this item. I have it now on a monthly subscription for my bird since it has worked so well.

I was so excited to order this. I have a macaw that likes to pluck, and also can be destructive at times. So when I saw this online I thought this would be the perfect thing to help me contain her feather plucking. I was wrong. One she does not like the taste at all and will not eat anything with it, and because it's oil mixing it with water is pretty pointless. Honestly the only way I can foresee getting her to take it is for me to force it down her throat, and that is not going to be an easy task for somebody who is not afraid to use her beak. I had really high hopes through this product and I was very excited to order it but unfortunately it just didn't work the way I needed it to.

Update: After my macaw was doing wonderful on this oil, she ended up with horrible dry flaking skin and stopped moving/eating. After being rushed to the vet, they said this oil basically gave her a chemical peel and she was in horrible pain. Now she also has a skin bacterial infection for which she will be on antibiotics. Stay away from this. Must have changed the formula or had a bad batch! What a scary time! My blue and gold is 31 years old and started mildly plucking about 4 years ago. Then it got much worse and we would wake up with blood everywhere! Started having episodes like this 2-4 times a month. Been to 3 vets, many tests, and even an animal communicator. We’ve tried it all!!!! My bird is well handled, fed, and spoiled. I started putting this on her topically every morning - full body massage, and it’s been a total game changer! Pins are breaking open to feathers, no pulling for two weeks now (used to be a daily occurrence. She seems so much happier now and is playing more too. Will keep using for sure. Thank you!

Helps to calm our cockatoo!

Holy moly! My Senegal Youyou calmed down instantly after I put some into his treat. He was more attentive, less anxious and jittery (He is also going through a hormonal phase) Glad I got this and a must for nervous/frightened/anxious birds!

I have been giving my parrot 4 drops 3 times/day for about a month and I've seen him be a bit calmer but the down pulling continues. I'm not sure I want to increase the dosage.
