Sticky
Not sure I can actually work out how you'd use it in the car apart from for the same reason I used it in the house.I used it to replace the rubbish tape used on my LED strip and its worked really well - they are still there and not showing any signs of falling off.Material is grey both sides not sure why they mention red as thats just the cover to protect double side as such. Red plastic can be a bit fiddly to get off but as soon as you get a purchase if peels off well afterwards. If your using it for wall you might want to leave a trailing part as it does appear to stretch when pulled so could be a way to release it without it ripping but then it might not be so stretchy over time so would need testing

Nice and sticky!
I use this type of tape all the time for all sorts of tasks, from hanging pictures to installing an outdoor doorbell - anything that would otherwise mean drilling screw holes in my plasterboard walls! I had not come across this brand of tape before, and the quality does vary wildly - some tapes simply don't do the job. I can't say that of this product, though. The foam strip sticks very well, and can easily hold an A4 sized picture on a wall. The tape is double sided and very easy to use - just cut to length, peel off the paper on both sides of the strip, and stick it on the picture frame, or the back of whatever you wish to mount. Press hard to the wall or other smooth surface, and you're done. A nice product, and good value for money.

Great tape, don't make a mistake though.
The media could not be loaded. If you make a mistake putting this on, and decide to change areas it will ruin the tape, and possibly the wall and the back of the product this is stuck on, and you will need to use a new cut, not only that, but also will have to scrape off the ruined tape, because it's foam based tape, and this is very bendy and will curl in if misaligned. It works great actually decent adhesive, but I used a few drops of glue in the center areas with it, because it's more of a permanent solution to all my sticky problems. I used it to put up some rectangular lights which needed double sided adhesive tape, to stick upside down. This was perfect for the job, as it is foam based, strong enough yet adds a small bit of cushion. It doesn't come with glue, I used my own glue just a little trickle added both sides will fix everything indefinitely. Without glue it still seems quite strong, but I didn't want to chance it. I found it easy to use, just cut the desired length, peel one side, apply then peel the opposite side and press. For heavier objects I recommend using more tape all over.Has a plethora of uses in the house, I did take a star off, mainly because although the adhesive is sufficient, I believe it could have been even stronger.

Good for flat surface only
I recently used this extra strong tape to hang pictures on the wall, and it worked great! It's not a joke that the tape sticks really well to smooth surfaces; it works great for my needs. It was really simple to use—just cut it out and stick it on. A big plus is that it can handle big and heavy things without having to drill or put them in place. As suggested, I made sure my wall was flat, and my pictures are still in great shape. It can be used for many things, so I'll be using it for many jobs around the house. Just so you know, taking off the red protective liner can be hard, but it's not impossible with some patience and maybe a tweezers. I would suggest this tape to anyone who wants a reliable, mess-free way to hang or mount something.

Trash, difficult to cut, isnt actually very strong and awkward to peel

Strong grip.
This 2cm wide foam double-sided tape does the job. I've used it to attach many itens to the interior of my campervan. It has the advantage of not damaging any of the interior cabinets and is reasonably easy to remove if required. The grip is strong, and as advertised, it certainly gets stronger after a few hours. Like any double-sided tape, it has its limitations, and I wouldn't recommend it for mounting heavy objects. The backing is fairly easy to remove, unlike some of the competitors.

Only good for sticking on flat surfaces.
I thought this would hold my number plate onto my mobility scooter but followed instructions and peeled up the next day on one edge. Maybe good for flat but not curved.

I Thought This Was Clear Tape. It's Not...It's Grey
I got this because I thought it was clear acrylic adhesive mounting tape. That’s what the description said. But when it arrived, I found it was dark grey sticky tape. I take some of the responsibility because if I had looked at the photographs more closely, I would have seen it was grey. It is double-sided, heavy-duty mounting tape suitable for use on plastic, wood, metal, ceramic tiles and other smooth surface. So you might ask, what difference does it make? Because the tape would be hidden from view. Well, I’ve got an answer to that. I wanted to attach glass to wood and, as we all know, you can see through glass. And I would be able to see the grey tape through the glass. That is why I wanted clear tape. And glass is one of the suitable materials listed.I have used it in another job. Attaching a cork notice board to wood. It’s a fairly simple procedure, but I had some problems. One side of the tape is grey and sticky. The other side has a red protective cover on it. First, I cut the tape to size, then stuck the grey side to the back of the corkboard. As instructed, I left it for 24 hours to let it get a solid grip. Then came the fun part. I had to take the red protective cover off to reveal the other side of the grey sticky tape and fix that to the wood. Still with me? What a struggle. Even with long fingernails, I found it difficult to peel it back. I eventually managed. But it was difficult. The good news is that the tape seemed to have a good grip on the back of the noticeboard and on the wood.Even though the adhesion appears to be good, I am giving this a low rating. For two reasons. The description misled me and it was so difficult to take the red protective cover off the tape.
