SOOTHING CREAM WASH
My skin has been so dry lately as a result of the cold winter months and dry heat inside the house. I do love many of the AVEENO products and decided to try this cream wash to alleviate the dryness. This formula does not foam/suds much but does create a slight lather and rinses away cleanly without leaving my skin tight or dry but still clean. I use it in combination with the AVEENO colloidal oatmeal packets added to the bath under running water. I have found that this combination leaves my skin clean and soothed from winter dryness.

Truly fragrance free
Truly fragrance free. I’m very sensitive to fragrances and was looking for a shampoo I could use that didn’t have a scent. I saw this shampoo and ordered it. I’m very happy with this product. I will be buying again.

Perfect my baby with sensitive skin
Perfect for my little one’s sensitive skin. He didn’t breakout in these little red bumps, that he gets if his skin is irritated, after using it!

It’s Capable; But I Don’t Think Perfect; Not a Fan of Some of the Ingredients; Premium Price
What am I reviewing?Aveeno baby daily moisture healthy start newborn wash.Brand name?Oh yes, it is! I have “considerable” respect for the Aveeno brand, having had used, and continuing to use, their various productsHow did this arrive? As is. However, the bottle was sealed under the press to open cap. I prefer my products to be sealed, in some way. In this instance a secure plastic seal under the cap; having done so gives me peace-of-mind that the product’s integrity was maintained from factory to me.Whom did I try this on first? An adult (me) of course.Any issues using on sensitive [adult] skin?My sensitive [adult] skin had no negative reactions; I did “not” find this drying either, especially on dry/chapped sensitive winter ravaged skin.Bottle’s dimensions?Small, the bottle’s dimensions are about (6.625”) tall and about (3”) in wide – at its widest point; overall it’s “considerably” smaller than most other shampoo and baby wash bottles, by at least (25%+).Bottle weight? The bottle, with its ingredients, weighed in at (270) grams, which is about (9½) ounces, this is about (½) the weight of most other baby washes, so, there is not much product here.Quantity? The bottle reports to contain (8) fluid ounces; this is about (50%) less than the average baby wash, that’s a big number, to the point I would say this is stingy in quantity [I do not need a small bottle to wash a small baby]; so, this small bottle is quickly being depleted.Value.I found that I received just okay value, at a premium price of about ($1.12) per fluid ounce – which can easily be (2x) the cost of the average baby wash. No way is this exceptional value, when considering the totality. What about those ingredients? My understanding is that this wash has: Water, Glycerin, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Lauroamphoacetate, Coco-Glucoside, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Flour, Sodium Chloride, Hydroxypropyl Starch Phosphate, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Citric Acid, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Sodium Benzoate, Glyceryl Oleate, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Glycol Distearate, Sodium Hydroxide, Glyceryl Stearate, Panthenol, Ceramide NP, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel ExtractOkay, so?I am not a fan of some of the ingredients, for instance: Sodium Benzoate, a preservative – which is about (¾) of the way down the list of ingredients – rather than last! What’s the other ingredient in this wash I am not a fan of?Cocamidopropyl Betaine (CAPB), which, to my knowledge, is an amphoteric synthetic detergent – which is being more and more used in personal care products such as shampoos, bath gels, skin care products, cleansers, liquid soaps, and intimate personal hygiene products. What’s the claims on this wash’s CAPB ingredient? The claim is it may induce a relatively mild skin irritation among a single digit percentage [range] of the population, in fact, to my understanding, in 2004, CAPB was named “Allergen of the Year” by the American Contact Dermatitis Society (ACDS) – which is made up of health care professionals, such as dermatologists. So?So, it’s hard to square-up this product having CAPB and the claim this is “Recommended By Pediatricians & Dermatologists.” However, that recommendation is also noted on the back of the bottle surrounding the “brand” and leads me to wonder if such applies for this product, further it is likely referenced for the general baby population, rather than those that may not react favorably with CAPB, further research by the reader is suggested. Others claim CAPB is safe.Tear free?Interestingly, the bottle “has” claims that this fragrance free, hypoallergenic and tear free. However, since CAPB is the “3rd” largest ingredient, I am struggling with that claim.Country of origin?Uncertain, there is no specific reference – the bottle does reference it’s distributed by a US based company, however, no specific information surrounding country of origin – there was no reference to where the ingredients were sourced from. There is a reference toVegan?I saw no certification on bottle.Cruelty Free?Unknown, there was no certification (bunny in a circle) on the bottle.Dermatologist and Pediatrician Recommended?Yes, per the reference on the bottle, however, was it “tested” and then recommended? Further, the back of the bottle suggests the recommendation is for the brand, is it also for this wash? Not clear, and it should be.USDA Organic? No certification mark on bottle surrounding anything, including the oat base.ECOCERT/COSMOS?No certification mark on bottle. What is ECOCERT/COSMOS?An organization that verifies a product meets specific natural [or organic] standards.EWG verified? No certification mark on bottle. What is EWG verified? It’s a mark issued to products that meet being free of certain harmful chemicals and follows the Environmental Working Group’s [EWG’s] strict standards.Hypoallergenic? No reference or certification mark on bottle, such as from the National Eczema Association Seal; nor The Allergy UK Seal.Prevented Ocean Plastic seal?No certification on bottle.Certified B Corporation? No certification on bottle.Cosmos Natural? No certification mark on bottle. What is Cosmos Natural? An organization that looks for conformity, for instance, about 95% to 100% of the ingredients of the total product must be of natural originShelf life, after opening? No reference what that might be, after first use.Hydrating.I used this on me, first, not baby. I found this did not leave my skin dry nor taught. Rather supple and smooth.Irritating?I thought this was non-irritating.Foaming action? It’s more creamy than foaming.Scent?Real or imagined, I catch something, very feint.Date of manufacture?UnknownWhen received?March 2025Best by date?None referenced. Is this perfect? No, however, I have no other “significant” criticisms other than what was listed on.Rating? After considering the above, this, for me, is four (4) stars, at best.I hope my thoughts added a bit of information.
