I just had a A/C unit installed on my barn. Gets pretty hot and humid here in the South and the heat is getting harder to take as I get older and the humidity is not a friend to wood. Had the unit installed at one end of the attached lean to. Since this is where I store all my implements I was concerned someone would get too close to the unit and hit it. With that in mind I decided to add these bollards to protect it. While they aren't as heavy duty as you would find at a commercial warehouse or something like that, they are heavy enough for my needs (i.e. stop a zero turn but not commercial truck). They were actually more solid than I expected. Two things to note however. 1. They are sent with metric hardware. Some may find this an issue as you will need an M12 bit to drill the hole. Standard bits will not work. 2. If drilling into concrete, you will need a hammer drill capable of drilling such a large hole. Most likely a rotary hammer drill or similar. It wasn't an issue for me as I just swapped the metric out for 3/8th standard and discarded the metric hardware as most stores around here don't carry an M12 concrete bit. Please also note, your holes must be perfectly located as there isn't much play with the plate holes. I had to step up the holes on one plate because the drill bit walked on me even though it was center punched. All in all they were much better than anticipated and took no time to install.

My sweet mother in law was very concerned about hitting my motorcycle in the garage. As she was pulling in one day, she was laser focused on the motorcycle and failed to check her proximity to the furnace, which she smashed up real good. After pounding out the dents, replacing the condensate line, and putting the heat exchanger back inside the furnace, I immediately ordered this bollard. Though fairly sturdy, this won't prevent a car from smashing my furnace at high speeds. It's hollow and would probably bend and be damaged if hit by a car, but I have confidence it wouldn't be as in bad of shape as my furnace was. My hope is it will at least cause some level of damage to the car before crumbling into the corner of the already damaged furnace. Time will tell and I'll update my review when that happens.

This helped us pass inspection for a water heater that needed protected. Easy to install and looks great!

Good hardware. You just need a good 1/2" drill bit to drill into asphalt to install it and a 17" impact hex bit to fasten the bolts. When tools are right, it just takes 30 minutes to get it done and your neighbor won't hit your car parked on your driveway anymore. They must hit this pole first if they try, LoL.

Make sure that the size of the anchors and the size of the recommended drip bit are appropriate mine wasn’t I had to purchase an additional drill bit Aside from that everything was high quality and secured nicely to my garage floor

Product showed up quickly and as described, the metal was very thin similar to it being made out of steel conduit but worked for job needed and was easy to move to job.
