You need to be comfortable changing device config through web interface
It won't work out of the box, so you must be OK with entering config through device webpage. I found the information necessary easily available from my VOIP providers website, and found the setup really straightforward and following saving the settings, it all worked beautifully. I will admit I work in IT (platforms and systems) so I know enough to be wary of changing settings without backing up beforehand, and all you really need to know is that you can perform a reset to factory settings at any time if you get lost and make a mistake. Unfortunately there is no way that I could find to then take a backup of the successfully changed config through the device webpage, but keep a copy of the information you changed for future reference if the worst happens :-) I'm 100% happy with this device -especially at the price paid! - and recommend it. I've also assigned the device IP in my router so that I know it's webpage access will also always be the same.

Needs Configuring
I have got this up and running successfully using a cheap VOIP service provider. The adapter comes with no instructions. If you don’t already have one, you will probably need a British Telecom Female Jack to RJ11 phone adapter (as pictured) to be able to plug your UK phone into the back of your internet router. Once connected to a power supply and Internet , there are 4 very bright green lights on the front of the adapter which have the potential to be annoying. My adapter is tucked away in a cabinet so this was not a problem. The adapter then needs to be configured in the following way: 1. Find the IP of your device: On the attached telephone, dial **** 110#. The numbers that are read out are the devices IP address. Make a note of this address. 2. Visit your device’s configuration page: Enter the IP address of your device into the URL bar of a browser window. You may need to type in http:// before the IP. 3. Go to advanced settings: Click the Admin Login button at top right of page, then click switch to advanced view in the centre of page. 4. Setup the line you wish to use: Click Line 1 or Line 2 depending on which inout socket you have used at the back of the adapter, then enter the following information: Proxy & Registration: * Proxy: * Use outbound proxy: Yes * Outbound proxy: * Use OB Proxy in Dialog: Yes * Register: Yes * Make Call without Reg: No * Register Expires: 60 The proxy and outbound proxy settings need to come from your VOIP provider. In addition, you will need login and password settings for your VOIP account. The process is not difficult, but the setup may be daunting for many. It is worth noting that most VOIP service providers will offer a pre-configured adapter that circumvents the above process.

Worked fine for a short time....
After 2 weeks of use the line 2 output failed, just making a loud clicking sound through the handset.

Smaller than expected!
Easier and smaller than expected. I managed to get the voip connected for outbound calls. Inbound calls fail to connect currently, but I need to troubleshoot as it may work fine via broadband instead of sdcard router

Voip adaptor
Connected the box to the router as per the instructions but still needed to go through a setup procedure led by a representative from Voipfone. Not an easy procedure, probably wouldn't have been able to complete it by myself, but the box seems to be working well.

You need to configure it but works well
First of all this won’t work out the box, you need to get configuration info from your voip provider. It took us ten mins to get it all set up and it works well. We are with voip fun and using a eero router and very old dect phone and having no issues.
