Overall an excellent set
(1) Bannetons: Excellent. While shaping and proofing a loaf in a mixing bowl is usually good, for a presentation loaf that looks good before slicing a banneton is a must. My rattan banneton and linen liner is great but I am very happy with how easy it is to use this silicon banneton. I lightly dusted with flour and not sure I even needed to do that. The proofed dough came out easily onto parchment paper to sling into the hot Dutch oven. I don't cook in silicon due to possible outgassing, so I didn't even think of dumping the dough directly into the hot pot, but I now realize it would not have hurt the silicon if it touched the hot metal and I could have sprinkled a little corn meal into the pot and dumped the dough in directly.(2) bench scraper: Excellent. The 'sharp' edge was good straight out of the package but I still took a sanding block with 400 or 600 wet dry sand paper and polished the edge a bit. It was good and would not have scratched the counter but is now better. The plastic grip is perfect and the whole thing can go in the dishwasher.(3) Dough whisk: very good. This is for medium to small hands and while I would like the handle to be an inch longer and not quite so much taper, I like that the wood is hardwood, straight grained and closed cell. Almost looks like hard European beech wood. The clear coat finish seems good but time will tell, and if not then thin coat of mineral oil will probably suffice. I like the single small coil offset in the bigger coils like a traditional Danish dough whisk.(4) The lame: no surprises, very standard design. I'm getting used to the curved blade. I'm able to see the depth of cut much better with the handle compared to holding the razor blade between my thumb and index finger and having my and block my view of the cut. the long handle is good. I have yet to find a good way to store it without taking it apart.(5) Bread bag: nice. I haven't used it for bread. (6) brush: Fine I guess, I don't use them.All-in-all an excellent set and I'm very happy with it.I also use a (probably too big) 35 oz/1000 ml sourdough jar with its lovely 3.5"-3.7" wide mouth and no neck, a great older Ozeri Pronto digital scale good to 11 pounds / 5 kg, and a 5-6 quart Dutch oven.Life is good and I hope you find this review helpful.

I like it
I really like this set. I love th bread bag that comes with it, the two bowls, the whisk and the dough cutter. My only issue is the bread scorer has such thin flimsy blades. I will have to buy different ones

Great Gift for Bakers
This is a great collection of tools for someone just getting started with sourdough or artisan bread making. I've been using the cute collapsible proofing bowls as extra fruit bowls when not in use for breadmaking. I did notice a slight chemical odor from the silicon when I opened the package, but ran the bowls through the dishwasher, and they were fine afterwards.

Everything you need is here
Is this going to transfor your sourdough bread? NO- your bread is what it is when you make it. But it will make it much easier to score fun patterns into the bread and to let is ferment into a cute stable shape. The baskets and covers are good- make sure to wash the covers before using- they had a smell but it came out in 1 wash. the silocone baskets are great as they are ones that fold down and pop right back up, but when they pop back up it take them a bit to fully come back to the original shape, but nothing like a bit of warm water over the silocone helped it with poping back into shape. This is a common problem with all baskets of this type- just if this is your first beginning set (as it's advertised) don't forget to do that. All in all a great starter set.

Versatile set and sturdy baskets
These baskets are great, and in my opinion, better than woven baskets. They're easy to clean, collapsible, and will last a very long time. They'll likely last longer than my desire to make bread, so that's 5 starts in itself.
