Fascinating History
This book is a treasure for people who are interested in fashion and, more specifically, in the roles that Black people have had in the fashion industry. Going back to the early days of this country, Black in Fashion documents how Black people participated in the creation of the fashion industry in America--how integral they were to the backbone of what has become an international pulse point. That Tonya is a historian and archivist is a huge bonus to the content of this book that carefully crafts a narrative that provides context to the evolution of fashion in America. That WWD covered as much of Black culture as it did over decades is remarkable. Anyone interested in fashion will value this book.
