I don't want to reduce the rating for the product because the coffee itself is high-quality. However, I am concerned about the packaging used by Amazon recently. Please stop using these smelly bags soaked in a detergent-like solution. Lately, I received tea and this coffee packaged in these Amazon bags. It's especially important to avoid such packaging for products like coffee or tea - it absorb the smell from the bag.

I'm just a normal coffee drinker, not a coffee-geek but I really like this coffee. Very nice flavor, not bitter, and a nice pleasant way to start the day.

I only buy organic coffee and have tried many brands. This ones is great. Not acidic tasting and good medium flavor.

Given that our tastebuds can register flavors inconsistently from time to time, I'll give this coffee another try, but so far, after two separate brewings, it's a disappointment. Considering the challenges of growing coffee in a changing climate, I know I should be grateful that coffee is still available at all. And at least the price for this particular coffee (the Early Bird blend) was reasonable, so I kept my expectations moderate. But the flavor note descriptions did not apply to the beans I received. I used a more generous measure of grounds than usual, so while the resulting brew wasn't weak, and definitely not acidic, it was rather flat, and tasted more like roasted nuts than coffee. There were also no discernible chocolate notes. But I'll try it again, and if it wasn't a case of my palate being "off" the first two times I made it (freshly ground, pour-over method), I'll blend it with some more robust beans. So for now, it's a somewhat negative, though still open verdict.

This Whole Foods Market Organic Early Bird Blend is a pretty standard medium roast in whole bean form. The beans themselves looked and smelled reasonably fresh. After grinding and brewing, it produced a decent cup of coffee. I did pick up some mild cocoa notes, as described, but they weren't particularly strong. The "roasted nuts" aspect was more of a general nutty undertone rather than a distinct flavor of a specific nut. It's a fairly balanced cup, not too bright or too bold. It's a good, solid everyday coffee that's easy to drink. Being whole bean, you have the flexibility to grind it to your preferred consistency. The bag is typical for whole bean coffee. Overall, if you're looking for an organic medium roast with subtle cocoa and nutty hints, this is a perfectly acceptable option. It's a reliable choice for a morning brew.
