Great value and very capable
Purchased two years ago, still holds up to everything I throw at it! Also handle ray tracing and shaders with ease!

Good but not perfect and it isn't all Acer's fault
The laptop is good, and I love the colors, although at the time of purchase it was rather odd that the better model was slightly cheaper than the base model. That said, it allowed me to get all the pretty colors, so I'm not going to complain. I will say this about the laptop, and that is that Windows 11... well, Windows 11.After purchase and setup, upgrading the RAM and SSD, it initially felt like a downgrade to my previous laptop. Same brand and model (Acer Nitro) but it was the 5 model not 16. You'd think the bigger number would mean that its performance, when directly compared, would be better. Or that the speed would be noticeably different, since my previous laptop had 16GB of RAM and this one (after upgrading it) has 32GB of RAM. But it just feels slower. The only difference between the two is the OS (Windows 10 to Windows 11) so I'll blame the OS and say that the laptop itself is pretty, functional, and I like it.Some of the function key choices are bizarre, however, like the option to lock it. Acer does know that Windows has a built-in shortcut for that (Windows key + L, for those wondering) and that the previous model having brightness and volume on the arrow keys made it so that you could have other more important keys up on the function/F row? Right? I mean, it is completely missing one of my most used key binds, which is the monitor/screen off-key.If I wasn't as tech-savvy as I am, I wouldn't have thought to use Power Toys to change the key bindings. Though that did allow me to take out the superfluous Nitro Sense key and turn it into Print Screen. Other keys were moved around as well, though the function keys are unfortunately hard coded, so there is no way (that I'm aware of) to use the FN key + something Else other than those pre-selected by Acer. But this is getting long, and I have other work to do. Thanks, Amazon, for reminding me to review and distracting me today. I know, it's partially my own fault, but still.

It broke two weeks before 1 year warranty. They are not customer friendly for repair.
I would give this negative stars if possible. The computer screen bit the dust two weeks before the warranty expired when it was being used to watch YouTube videos. It was not used for gaming and kept in a secure location without any movement. The amount of time to just start a claim is laughable and absurd. At first they say that the warranty is only from the manufacturer date, not the date of sell. I had to dig through different layers to get to the point of having to verify the purchase date. But, wait! You cannot just take a picture of the purchase date and price - you have to go all the way to the bottom Amazon invoice because they reject everything else that says the same thing. It will reject your serial number over and over so try the snid number but be aware that too will be rejected. Good luck on winning the lottery first. Once it deems you worthy of acknowledgement, please understand that doesn’t mean anything is going to happen to go forward. Repeat over and over. After you’ve shared your information until you feel nauseous, it will completely psyche you out with a random number stating you have filed a claim. It’s a lie. (For the love of all good dogs - turn off your pop up blocker because everything that you wrote just goes gray and you have to start over.) You will be told that you will hear something three days later. This is a pipe dream. None of your work will actually be saved or available. I waited a week. Mind you, I begin to believe that they are trying to wait me out for the warranty. Finally! I attempt one more time and the warranty is validated to the date of purchase. It shows the computer! Angels wept! There is no sign of anything to do with a claim. Tick tock. I buy an extended two year warranty that shows immediately after I pay. Amazing how that worked out, right? I start searching for a way to contact them. You can text, chat or call. I chose to chat. If you do anything START with chat. After you have successfully submitted your invoice and they have confirmed your warranty don’t do anything else but chat. All of it was typed on a imaginary screen. The chat person was kind. So… after all of my attempts to start a claim and all of the accompanying notices of my claim number did nothing to start a claim. He did, email me that my receipt was invalid so I went digging further for the all seeing invoice. He started the claim. We end the chat. I wait three days. Nothing. I am finally able to log in and to my amazed eyes saw that not only had I started the claim, I had sent the computer, they had repaired the computer and SENT it back to me. Consider me curious as I touched the computer from its resting place on the desk. Have we reached peak teleportation? No, no we have not. I then get the email I’ve been waiting my whole life for. Directions on how to return it, package it and a note that FedEx will send me an email with the shipping label. Psyche!! It’s a barcode! I print it out and clear out the computer and stick it in the box it came in to get repaired. You will NOT get your box back. They suggested wrapping it four times in bubble wrap. Since I pop bubble wrap for relaxation , it was available but it was so safely packed up I didn’t have to waste any. Whew! I bring it all to the FedEx office in my small town. Everyone is smiling as the scanner gun lights up the barcode! What’s this now? It’s not scanning? Hmmmm. Ok, we will use the screenshot and that flipping fails. We’re all confused. I check the email, yep still valid and I open the link for it in the email and of course it fails! It’s the same freaking link. Nice employee goes, “Oh yeah we’re not a FedEx store. You have to go to one to print out the shipping label. It’s more than an hour away by car and I’m dreaming about teleportation again. So she tells me to get ahold of the company and that they’ll be able to send me an actual shipping label and all will be zen. Remember when I said to turn off your pop up blocker? This part is all in me. $&@!? I open another chat. Explain the situation and ask for a small joy of a shipping label. I am worthy I tell you! Worthy!! They tell me nope, they don’t have the ability and can only send what FedEx gives us mere peons. They have made this one of the worst service requests I have experienced and it hasn’t left to be repaired. The quality of the computer is disappointing at this price point and the hunt for clues to get it repaired is a Nancy Drew mystery combined with making a new password with 32 characters and verifying a ufo flight sequence. It sucks. Choose another brand that hopefully stands behind their product and for all of humanity. Best wishes!!
