Will buy again
These are the easiest filters to setup and work so well we bought 4 of them! I have 2 on my 180 gallon, 1 on my 55 gallon, and 1 on my 36 gallon. They keep my water clear and once the tank cycles this filter works great keeping water parameters. Cleaning is simple too!

A little noisy, but leaks everywhere
I was very excited to get this for my turtle. My initial disappointment came when I needed to run out and buy filter material - It says in the listing that it comes with Bioballs but the packaging says to go buy your own. I sucked it up and bought my own. After it was setup, I was a bit difficult to get the suction cups to stay adhered but that was due to the thickness of my tank frame - maybe mine is wider. Again, I bought different suction cup mounts and they worked fine. After less than a week, I noticed a constant but marginal loss of water in the tank. I initially discounted this evaporation (it was dry and the "fountain" from the filter was working. Then I went out of town for 2 days to come back and find my carpet damp (felt damp and was cool to the touch)... the mat under the filter (a carpet sample square - was VERY damp.. enough to wet a paper towel dabbed into it.The carpet damp has reached the nearest wall, the stand the turtle tank is on (a Walmart TV stand) and a nearby Ikea bookcase - and I expect them all to swell and need to be replaced.Note: None of the tubing shows any sign of leakage. So it is nothing I did. I see leakage around the unit junction (drops at a time). I cleaned the seal and reset-up the unit.. still seeing the drops come.. probably 5 to 10 a minute all around the unit.

So far so good
This was my first time buying a canister filter system. I inherited a turtle from my daughter and was unaware of what was needed to properly care for him. After researching YouTube I learned that I needed a bigger filtration system. I have a 55 gallon tank and that’s why I bought this one. After weeks of use, i noticed that it wasn’t keeping up with his messiness and it ended up getting clogged with algae and debris. I had to take it completely apart and clean it after purchasing cleaning brushes to clean the intake and outtake hoses, spray bars and valve area. Later I learned that when caring for turtles I would need to double or triple the filtration. So I ordered from the same company and purchased a bigger canister system rated for 200 gallons. Now I have both filters running filtering 255 gallons.I will give an update later.Cons- the priming isn’t the easiest. It took me several hours of dripping water on the floor through the small priming area, learning how to use the valves correctly and finally I got it working. It came with horrible instructions that doesn’t explain how to properly set it up (especially for beginners). The video was just as bad.Cons- the build up of algae makes me believe that the UV bulb isn’t powerful enough to stop the growth.Cons- the in/out lettering on the canister should be legible. You have to shine a light on it to read it. Need to make it bigger and with brighter colorsCons- the open/close valve on the intake is too small and I can’t read it. Need to make it bigger and brighter.Cons-off/on switch light isn’t bright enough to see if it’s on I would recommend either bright green or red.Pros-The unit is well worth the purchasePros- it’s holding up nicelyPros- I like the fact that when doing a water change you can close the intake valve and the ball valves where you connect to the filter system to keep the prime.Pros-the spray bar can be long or short depending on what your needs are.Pros-came with all parts and an extra UV bulb.

Hard to get it working but so far good.
This was kinda hard for me to figure it all out, took me about 3 hours to get it right. But that can also be because this is my first time using a canister filter. The pipe tubing tends to kink a lot and it makes it harder for the filter to even start. Had to make adjustments just for it to work on my 20 gallon long baby turtle tank, used this filter because when it comes to turtles it’s best to have a stronger filter, even more so when you have fish in with the turtle. So far works good, hopefully it last me awhile even with every tank update my turtle would have throughout its life time. I will update if anything bad happens with the filter. And hopefully it’s not a pain in the back for anyone else to put together like it was for me.

Works so far!
Got this just yesterday, so very early into using it. The instructions were pretty good, and made setup much easier than having to figure it out myself as other people have mentioned there were no instructions. I am not savvy with putting things together, at all, so this did take me about 45 minutes to set up. Anyone with a better ability to build things and have good spatial awareness would likely get this done in 20 minutes or less.Getting the hoses on was quite easy, and I appreciate the screw pieces to make sure they stay put.Unfortunately the hoses are quite stiff and not easy to manipulate, so you do need to work around that a bit when doing setup, especially if your tank is really close to the wall like mine is.I’m using this for a 20 gal I want extra filtration in, and when starting up on full power as suggested, it DEFINITELY is strong. My whole tank was like a whirlpool haha. After water flowed in and out I was easily able to lower the flow to my liking and for my small fish so they’re not knocked around. The amount of space for filer media was fantastic and I’m excited I can use all that space now. The UV light works as well and will hopefully last a bit, but it comes with a replacement and instructions so that’s good. The rain attachment for outflow is great at dissipating the flow of water, and even has a controllable knob so you can have more/less flow! Suction cups for the attachments for inflow and outflow seem to be holding quite well. I wet the suction cups before putting them on, so I think that helps.Overall seems to be great quality, silent (no sounds at all), and my fish seem to like it so I’m a happy camper!
