Good beginner-friendly laptop for a great price.
I just started my Computer Programming courses and I got this laptop to keep up with the demand. It took a bit of time setting up, most of which was updates handled through the MyASUS app. Speaking of, MyASUS makes navigating updates so much simpler, especially for people who don't want to navigate multiple programs to keep track of what their computer is doing or needs. It runs quick and smooth for what I need it to do, and though I was worried about the number touch pad, it doesn't interfere too much with what I'm doing. I haven't played games on it, but I imagine it'll play whatever time wasters I need for it to. Wifi connected fine after I did all the updates. The screen quality and brightness is great, the fans aren't too loud, and it can run multiple programs simultaneously that would have made my old laptop quiver in fear. It may not be a powerhouse in this generation of laptops, but if you're a bit old-school like I am and go for infrequent tech upgrades, you'll find yourself happy with this laptop.

Medium level laptop with lots of power and features. Excellent value for a quality Asus line.
This 14" laptop is compact enough for travel especially on airplane seats when the table has so little space. I used to have a 17" old laptop and the screen gets "crushed" when somebody in front reclines the seat. However 14" can be little small for daily use but I am at a age using reading glasses so I don't have any problem seeing smaller words. At first I was afraid to go into a new laptop with windows 11. I got used to it very quick and no problem from the beginning. You can modify Windows 11 to look like Windows 10 but with better features. The monitor is bright and clear, pad easy to work and I can trust Asus with all its features and quality as I had Asus before. 512GB SSD is lightning fast and plenty of space after Windows 11. Even though it is Intel core i3, the 16GB Ram helps speed up with most common daily tasks even with moderately speedy games. WiFi and Bluetooth connections are fast and smooth. This is a great for me as a second computer for mostly travel.

Great Buy
It really isn't a bad laptop. It's quite nice. Quick on startup and getting to your aps and websites. It's sleek in looks and feel. Very lightweight so easy to carry around. The keys are nice to my fingers. For a 14" display, it isn't bad either. I mainly use it for writing and basic doodling. Picture quality for watching videos/movies is nice as well. No complaints from me. Now for the cons. I wish there were more ports on the left side of the laptop. I'm not a fan of the number keys being in that section to the bottom/ middle, not sure if it has a particular name. Maybe it's just me and I have to do better on hand and finger placement when I'm typing because I keep tapping the on and off button and the number keys. I end up having a bunch of random numbers in my sentences. When I do use it I forget to turn it on or I have to remember to tap and not push down. It's nothing major just a memory thing for me. Overall it's a great laptop and I definitely will recommend to others and buy again if need to.

Vivobook model X1404ZA. Blue.
This review is for the Vizio book 14 inch, with the i3 processor and 16gb of ram. The model per the computer is x1404za. It's not listed on Amazon but that's what it is. First this has pretty good hardware for the price of ~$300. The processor is about 4x better than the i7 in my old (10 years) laptop. The ram is fast. DDR4 3200 Mt/s which is very good and not listed so figured I'd let yall know. On task Manager it says it has Intel 8gb GPU. But I do not think this laptop has a dedicated GPU. So this might be a semi -lie. Basically it's a software that converts the CPU processor into GPU functions. But that's not the same as a dedicated GPU. Intel doesn't make GPUs anyhow. It's not a gaming laptop (regardless of the 8gb GPU listed) and I don't plan to even try to run games from it. It's probably going to be perfect though for viewing videos or anything like that. It's a work laptop for me so as long as I can do zoom, PowerPoints, and some stats software, it's prefect. The laptop is light weight which will be nice considering I pack it around daily. Additionally the housing is aesthetic. I also really like the number pad option. The screen seems pretty good. I have a 4k TV and looking back and forth, the laptop screen seems about the same quality and resolution even though technically, it's not. But it does look good. Be sure to do all the updates and bios updates when you get it. You will need a Microsoft email to set up Windows. That's how Windows works since a few versions back. Hotmail email works fine. It didn't come with a bunch of bloatware, for once! I appreciate that. Nothing like spending hours removing junk from a brand new PC. Glad they stopped doing that nonsense. Overall , had it a week. Works great. No complaints.

Excellent laptop for everyday use
This laptop has been great for daily use. It’s fast, lightweight, and easy to carry around. The screen looks sharp and clear, and the performance is smooth for work, studying, and streaming. Battery life is solid, and overall it offers great value for the price. I’m very satisfied with this purchase and would definitely recommend it.

No good
You should not have to screw around with a computer at a level the average user has no chance of doing right out of the box, yet this is where I'm at with this piece of crap. It was a Christmas gift for my wife but I ordered it early and due to traveling we had a late Christmas by the time we got the family together. I did manage to fire it up before the Jan. 31st return window, and I let it update and set up her Microsoft account. Then we had some more issues to take care of, and this week I restarted it and the fun began. Got a blue screen with a warning when I tried to access her Google account. Total lockup. Powered it down and it wouldn't even get to windows so I could use a safe start to troubleshoot it. Held the power key down for a half minute to clear the CMOS and that got it into windows. So I launched an admin command prompt and did a complete file repair, and it rebooted and we accessed her google account, had her log into Facebook and a couple other sites, set up a few favorites, and she settled into Words with Friends for an hour or so. Then Windows prompted her for another update, so I had her close Facebook and when I went to access her settings to start the update, another blue screen and freeze up. I held the power button down to clear CMOS again and it performed the update on the restart, and that's where I'm at with this piece of garbage. If I can straighten it out myself, I'll give it another star. If I can't and have to go to customer service and they are responsive and fix it, I'll give it 3 stars. If I don't update this review, assume it's a piece of crap. Any positive features this thing has of course are irrelevant to me.

Decent value but screen isn’t great. Download Intel App for latest drivers
Have used this laptop for about a week. The size and color of the laptop are nice. It’s light and feels a bit flimsy, but as long as you aren’t tossing it around, it should be fine. First the bad: The trackpad / numeric keypad are junk. Turn it off and use a mouse. The screen is mediocre at best as the color fades unless you have the angle of the laptop screen dialed in. No backlit keyboard which is expected at this price point, but disappointing nevertheless. Speakers are weak too. Use external speakers / earbuds / headphones (Does have an rca mini headphone jack). The USB-C input can only handle data transfer, so no charging or connecting a display (It does have an HDMI output to connect to an external display). Aside from those caveats, which I admit the screen image alone may be a deal breaker for many, I still think it’s a decent laptop for the price. The i3 processor is snappy enough for light gaming / video streaming and the included16GB of RAM is plenty, so no need to purchase additional RAM IMHO (8GB is soldered in, but you can remove an 8GB stick from the laptop and replace with a 16GB if you want to roll with 24GB RAM). No bloatware and runs Windows 11 like a champ. One tip - download the Intel driver application and download the latest Intel drivers. The Asus software didn’t identity available updates aside from a BIOS update. For around three hundred for a Windows 11 laptop, it’s tough to beat for the price as especially in comparison to a similarly priced Chromebook.
