Works so far!
Got this just yesterday, so very early into using it. The instructions were pretty good, and made setup much easier than having to figure it out myself as other people have mentioned there were no instructions. I am not savvy with putting things together, at all, so this did take me about 45 minutes to set up. Anyone with a better ability to build things and have good spatial awareness would likely get this done in 20 minutes or less.Getting the hoses on was quite easy, and I appreciate the screw pieces to make sure they stay put.Unfortunately the hoses are quite stiff and not easy to manipulate, so you do need to work around that a bit when doing setup, especially if your tank is really close to the wall like mine is.I’m using this for a 20 gal I want extra filtration in, and when starting up on full power as suggested, it DEFINITELY is strong. My whole tank was like a whirlpool haha. After water flowed in and out I was easily able to lower the flow to my liking and for my small fish so they’re not knocked around. The amount of space for filer media was fantastic and I’m excited I can use all that space now. The UV light works as well and will hopefully last a bit, but it comes with a replacement and instructions so that’s good. The rain attachment for outflow is great at dissipating the flow of water, and even has a controllable knob so you can have more/less flow! Suction cups for the attachments for inflow and outflow seem to be holding quite well. I wet the suction cups before putting them on, so I think that helps.Overall seems to be great quality, silent (no sounds at all), and my fish seem to like it so I’m a happy camper!

Needs more water flow
Overall it does what it says and seems to be decent. I'm not a huge fan of having metal screws inside where the water circulates, I only see that being a problem in the future. As for the pump size, it should be a bit bigger. I have it on a 29 gallon and it doesn't move the amount of water that the hang on is. There is no way it would be good for a 70 gallon as labeled, maybe as a add on but definitely not as a primary filter.Like I said Overall it is decent for the money

Broke in less than a month
This product is very cheaply made. I have only had this item for two weeks. I had to turn it off when I replaced the gravel I have with sand. When I went to restart the filter, the extremely cheap plastic part for priming broke so now the filter is unusable. Amazon is making the return process ridiculously impossible due to me not having a return hub anywhere near me. So now, I'm having to pay to have ups pick up this defective item. The price isn't worth the headache or extra money back to be spent just to return this item.Edited:This company contacted me, saying they wanted to make the situation right after my review, however in all these issues I've had with not only this defective item, many on Amazon, I will not longer be purchasing anything through Amazon. This became an issue when this company and Amazon refused to refund the money to my bank account and tried to force me to take a Amazon gift card. This woman Sunny tried to use her "newborn child" to play on my emotions which is extremely messed up seeing as I work extremely hard for my money and have 3 children myself. I had to go through sending an email to Jeff Bezos email and finally someone contacted me stating the refund would be put back to my account. I was more upset with Amazon than this company before this woman Sunny tried playing on my emotions and now would highly recommend finding a different company to order a filter you need from.

So far so good
This was my first time buying a canister filter system. I inherited a turtle from my daughter and was unaware of what was needed to properly care for him. After researching YouTube I learned that I needed a bigger filtration system. I have a 55 gallon tank and that’s why I bought this one. After weeks of use, i noticed that it wasn’t keeping up with his messiness and it ended up getting clogged with algae and debris. I had to take it completely apart and clean it after purchasing cleaning brushes to clean the intake and outtake hoses, spray bars and valve area. Later I learned that when caring for turtles I would need to double or triple the filtration. So I ordered from the same company and purchased a bigger canister system rated for 200 gallons. Now I have both filters running filtering 255 gallons.I will give an update later.Cons- the priming isn’t the easiest. It took me several hours of dripping water on the floor through the small priming area, learning how to use the valves correctly and finally I got it working. It came with horrible instructions that doesn’t explain how to properly set it up (especially for beginners). The video was just as bad.Cons- the build up of algae makes me believe that the UV bulb isn’t powerful enough to stop the growth.Cons- the in/out lettering on the canister should be legible. You have to shine a light on it to read it. Need to make it bigger and with brighter colorsCons- the open/close valve on the intake is too small and I can’t read it. Need to make it bigger and brighter.Cons-off/on switch light isn’t bright enough to see if it’s on I would recommend either bright green or red.Pros-The unit is well worth the purchasePros- it’s holding up nicelyPros- I like the fact that when doing a water change you can close the intake valve and the ball valves where you connect to the filter system to keep the prime.Pros-the spray bar can be long or short depending on what your needs are.Pros-came with all parts and an extra UV bulb.
