Easy to put on, wearing it at night. I swear this helps my IT band pain too.
I needed a replacement for a previous identical brace, that I've used over the last few years. This one is exactly what I needed. I've actually been wearing this to help with outer thigh IT band issues - it's designed for plantar fasciitis, which is absolutely helps with when worn overnight - for me, the way it positions my foot upright, it somehow helps ease IT band pain as well.I have average sized calves, for a female, and the velcro band fits with a bit of room for adjustment. There's more room for adjustment on the bottom velcro straps around the foot - sometimes if I wake up in the night I'll loosen or tighten these as needed. It's definitely designed to be worn at night or when resting - this isn't a brace to walk around in.Overall I'm very pleased with this brace. Would recommend.

ACE Support Too Big
ACE support did not fit me. The adjustable top had to be placed more than 2 inches about ankle in order to fit, and the bottom part did not wrap around the ball of my foot. Instead it wrapped around my toes. Because it did not fit well, the bottom part fell off my foot in the night. The support might fit a man and maybe some women, but not a smaller person like me. I'm 5'5" and around 135lbs. According to the description on Amazon, it was guaranteed. However, when I went to return it on Amazon, msg came up that item was not returnable. When I called Amazon, they hung up on me when I tried to talk to them about it, so very poor customer services by Amazon. I figured out that I had to contact ACE company in order to return the item. DO NOT PURCHASE HEALTH ITEMS ON AMAZON AS THEY WILL NOT ACCEPT RETURNS. My question is why doesn't Amazon tell you that in the description of the item?? Not happy with Amazon customer service today!

helping my plantar fasciitis
I wear a size 10 WW shoe and it fits fine around my foot and calf. It is helping with the stretch I need overnight. Can't walk in it though. Also, it seems to loosen and slide down and forward overnight, so I am not sure I am getting the full benefit.

THIS is the night brace you want, forget the others
I've had plantar fasciitis for about a year, but only in the last month has it progressed from a few seconds of mild discomfort to a full minute of feeling like I'm walking on knives. I know I should go get the steroid shots but I really can't take time out of my life to stay off my feet for a few weeks, so I wanted to try night braces first, as a last resort before I doctor up. I read a ton of reviews and originally decided to go with a different style of night brace--the kind that has rigid plastic under your foot and behind your calf, with three velcro straps on top to keep your foot and leg in. Well... I've tried everything, and there is absolutely no possible way I can sleep in those without waking up 5-10 times per night and feeling exhausted the next day. They're so giant and cumbersome, its awful. I really didn't want to re-spend on yet another brace, and the reviews for this aren't across the board great, so I only bought one to try it out on my worst foot. And wow. WOW. The materials and workmanship in this one are SO much better quality than the other kind. There's different overlapping parts and the straps are extremely padded (in super soft material) so that even if you pull them snug, you don't risk cutting off circulation. It's also just incredibly more comfortable. I don't feel like a cyborg, and it doesn't take 30 seconds of maneuvering just to roll over onto my other side like in the other braces.I'm female, size 10 shoes, and my calves and ankles are fairly thick... enough so that about 40% of boots I try on won't zip, so I was a little concerned that this wouldn't fit, but it fits no problem. I still have overlap in the leg strap so I could be even bigger and these would still work. It does have a bit of give so I don't think this brace holds my foot at exactly a 90-degree angle, it might be closer to 100 degrees... but when my foot is not in a brace and at rest it's at like 170-degrees so I'm certain this brace is giving me enough of a stretch to make a difference. Ordering the other one now, and I'm optimistic that in a few weeks I'll notice a difference and be able to walk in the morning. Either way, at least I can get a normal night's rest in these!

Not worth saving $$
The pros for this splint is that it is good with keeping the air flowing around the foot (so the foot doesn't get as hot); also, the price is not bad.The cons:The velcro is already going on mine (it's been less than 1.5 months)since the upper fastening is below the calf muscle, it tends to slide down and out of placeit does not hold the foot with enough tension in the bottom of the foot for fully effective helpMy foot specialist recommended splints with the plastic on the back instead of the front, like these. He said they would be more comfy (no slippage) and more effective (more effective tension). He was right - the new ones I got to replace the Ace brand splints are awesome (yes, they did cost more). The only drawback with the larger is that they don't breathe as well, so be prepared for "hot" feet.

Does not stay on feet well, and does not hold foot tautly enough in place to be effective
I have purchased three night braces and these were affordable, but far from ideal. No matter how tightly you secure the calve portion, it allows for some wiggle room that allows the foot to fall downward (the opposite of what you want to happen). Secondly, the straps on the actual foot also allow movement, no matter how tightly you fasten them...so that they 'move' throughout the night. More than a few times, I woke up and it had fallen completely off. I bought these to be my travel pair, as they are lightweight, but I ended up wasting my $50 and abandoning them in a hotel because they were not doing the job well compared the pair my ortho prescribed me for nightly home use. Poor design, in my opinion, and does not do the job nearly as well as other (costlier, admittedly) products. Is this better than nothing? Yes, but it could use some reengineering for sure.
