Update: Battery life is 12 hours and counting after draining and charging the batteries twice. I may be a very old man before I need to buy replacement batteries again. I am very pleased with this purchase. Less than the price of a couple of ice cream cones! I bought these batteries to replace the battery in my multi-function portable radio/mp3 player. The battery in the radio/mp3 lost its ability to hold a long lasting charge after I had kept it exposed on a sunny windowsill for years. The battery in the radio expanded--ballooning up in the middle--and would hold a charge for only 3 hours or so. These replacement batteries fit the radio perfectly. They accept a charge without issues and offer playing time consistent with the original battery as new--well over 8 hours. What a deal! Two batteries for a very reasonable price. As opposed to generically-branded BL-5C batteries, XHData has serious 'skin in the game' when it comes to ensuring this XHData-branded battery is a quality product. Because XHData (Dongguan XinHuaide Electronic Commerce), founded in 2015, currently sells high-end/up-market radios under the XHData, Radiwow and Sihuadon brand names. These batteries are intended, essentially, to be the OEM high-capacity substitute battery to be used within their radios. So you KNOW they are not going to be selling junk batteries … to be inserted into their high-end/up-market radios … and damage their radios and/or ruin the reputation of their radios. And that is why these XHDATA batteries currently have a 4.5-star rating over 1,500 reviews. Plus the price for this battery 2-pak is highly competitive. On the subject of those other "even-higher-capacity" gold batteries … Somewhere another reviewer pointed out that, ultimately, the capacities of these lithium batteries are constrained by volume. That the original BL-5C spec was 800mAh, the extended-life spec was 1000mAh … and that these 1500mAh batteries are just inside the limits of the technology and the volume constraint. Point being, you can ignore those 'gold foil' super-duper batteries claiming 2400+mAh. PLUS I personally have seen YouTube videos about these 'gold' batteries … and they are a LIE. They are used, almost-dead batteries of low capacity … and that truth is hidden … by over-wrapping them in alluring gold foil. You can actually peel off the gold foil and see the truth about the junk battery underneath.

I had bought this old HD (720p - woohoo!) digital video camera from a thrift shop, but the battery wouldn't hold a charge. Fortunately, it was replaceable, but I worried I wouldn't be able to find a match given the age of the device. This battery fit perfectly. It came already charged up, so I could see that it would work with my camera. I played around with the camera's functions, depleting the battery some, then put it on the charger. Charged back up just fine, no problems! I like that there were 2 batteries in this "item" - for the low cost, it was really a perfect solution for my camera!

This is a change in battery technology I welcome - tossing depleted batteries in the trash is wasteful. I do recycle mine but most people do not. USB charging and these longer life batteries are convenient. My radios came with 1 AH batteries, now this seller is offering 1.5 AH capacity for a reasonable price. There are many small portables and speakers that rely on this battery size. Both of these new ones charged up just fine in the radios. Now I have spares to change out in case of power outage.
