We have no issues with this product though.Be aware it is a very plain porridge though, so it's great as a base on which to add extra flavours on top. Whether it's simply honey or jam, cinnamon, bananas, berries, even some nuts will work.I put it in the microwave for 1.5 minutes and it was watery, which is fine if you like it that way, I found the extra minute is required to get it to thicken.If you don't have time tor don't want to put the extras on top, I'd recommend the: Quaker Oat So Simple Golden Syrup Porridge. The \"tin\" is cardboard and the lid is plastic so, I am fairly sure you must have come across this combination before in other purchases. so the lid keeps the container close but I would not say that it is absolutely air tight. The lid will keep the oats dry & fresh until the container is used up but I would not store anything in there that needs to be air-tight for long duration.
