reanNYS231G 3-Pole 3.5 mm Plug, Metal Handle, Gold Plated Contacts

Ordered this jack to replace the broken one on my pair of Audio-Technica ATH-A700X headphones & they now work, & sound, just fine. I saw people complaining about the soldering aspect & I'm confused. I had never soldered anything, until I had to fix these headphones & it wasn't bad @ all. I watched a couple youtube videos & figured everything out. lol The connection holes are pretty big too, so I really don't see the fuss that some of the other reviewers made about them being too small, or hard to see. The jack itself may be too big & heavy for something like earbuds, but for some hefty monitor headphones, that you're only going to be using @ home [or the studio] with a stereo receiver, the bulk & weight of them are just fine. I recommend them.

The plug has worked fine in the few days since I assembled it. However the ground pin portions had to be bent in order to fit and thread the metal sleeve on to the plug. I assumed that the plastic sleeve that comes with it is intended to slide over the connecting pins and inside the metal threaded sleeve but it didnt fit, wouldn’t allow the metal sleeve to slide on far enough to thread in to the plug. Overall it seems like a decent product but in my case simply soldering and assembling wasn’t possible, it required some extra “modifying” to get it put together. I also used shrink tubing to help strengthen the connection between wires and plug. Time will tell if this plug continues to work, I’m skeptical that the connections will stay solid given the gap where the cord extends from the back of the plug.

A very attractive audio plug. It's not difficult to wire it up and solder the connections, but it's not quite as easy to put together as some other designs (like the super easy generic Radio Shack one). Minus one star because it doesn't come with a spring or anything else for stress relief, and I wasn't able to find another solution because nothing I had would fit through the rear hole

This is so small that you need to be a solder expert. I wound us sending out to get the plug soldered. It works, for now. The shoulder on the pin is needed on anything that has a case to get full insertion of the stereo pin. Amazing to me that so many earbud makers sell with a large OD stereo plug. They don't work.

My Audio Technica M50s headphone jack died the other day because I dropped my phone on the floor. This was the perfect replacement jack and my headphones are back up and running. The most difficult part was soldering the connections as the headphone wires are very small and easy to torch. Everything sounds like it once did, so I would definitely recommend this replacement jack. I am not sure how long this will last, but it should be good for quite a while.

Excellent quality Jack. All metal construction with tight fitting shielding sleeve. Can easily be installed with moderate soldering skills. The contacts are of good size for reasonably easy soldering but it's pretty small since it's a MINI plug :-) Having a proper way to hold the piece / wires and good lighting while soldering helps. It completely eliminated the noises out of my headset / made it new again!

I found a pair of audio technica headphones for cheap that had a broken plug. I bought this plug and it fit perfectly in the slot. It is gold plated, just like the original one the headphones had, so it is nice sound quality. If my son breaks this plug(and he will pay for it if he does!), I will replace it with this same brand.

A bit more expensive then some of the other listings but the quality was better. At least you will be able to get this one to work.
