Is this suitable for a 14 year old or is it to little girlish?

Cindy, it is an adorable jewelry box and my 6 year old granddaughter loves it. It would be a wonderful keepsake for your 14 year old but I doubt she would use it all that much because it is rather small.

Made in China? From the reviews it doesn't sound like American craftsmanship.

I guess it is wood underneath the print but I am not sure. It is very sturdy.
