Sphagnum moss, Chilean 5-star premium sphagnum moss has been used in orchid cultivation and terrariums for many years. It can store a lot of water and thus has a good moisture-regulating effect in orchid substrates. It has a disinfecting effect and effectively delays the growth of putrefactive bacteria. Sphagnum is free from tannic acids. Our tests have shown that even earth orchids respond very positively to sphagnum moss. This high quality sphagnum moss (long fibre moss) is used in orchid breeding as well as in terrariums. By the way, peat moss is a renewable resource that needs intact bogs. It can be harvested approximately every 4-8 years. Please note that differences in humidity and storage can lead to weight differences of up to 15 %.
