Really protects ice cream from freezer burn. Shape is ideal for the perfect scoop.
Do you really need a special container for ice cream? Yes ! Make it this 3 piece, perfectly shaped container.Using this has made a believer out of me. It really does protect ice cream from freezer burn, and the elongated narrow shape is ingenious—so easy to make the perfect scoop in one motion**. No more partial shards of ice cream dished from a “short” container that stops the scooping motion. Added bonus of the shape of this container is the space saving footprint, perfect for a packed-to-the-gills freezer.I chose this 3 piece container because it is EZ to clean. I saw another similarly shaped container on Amazon, but it could not be taken apart for cleaning. That was an important consideration for me bcuz our homemade ice cream is not cooked (no eggs), thus, its almost like a raw food, where hygiene and storage are very important. One last point...as with any frozen dessert, make sure to place a piece of parchment paper or plastic wrap on the top surface of the ice cream, then cover the container with the tight fitting lid. The sealed surface is an important step in preventing freezer burn.I am impressed with the quality and design of the SUMO products I own so far. They are made of top quality materials, they are expertly designed to make them practical, durable and EZ to use. The pieces I received were packaged with thought and care—nice enough to give as gifts. SUMO stands for quality.**I highly recommend the SUMO chisel point full metal handle that spans the entire length Ice Cream Scoop for an EZ glide to that perfect scoop. It’s quality you will recognize as soon as you see it IRL and when you put it in your hand.https://www.amazon.com/SUMO-Stainless-Steel-Cream-Scoop/dp/B00PTSTST2

Perfect for Home Made Ice Cream
Likes -> various colors are available which are helpful when storing several ice cream creations, insulated on sides and bottom which keep product in excellent condition when storing in a chest/upright freezer that does not use a defrost cycle and transporting containers to a neighbor's house, stays upright when placed on the counter, easy to scoop ice cream out of using a traditional ice scream scooper, top rack dishwasher safe, quality product, tight fitting inner and outer sections. I have six of these containers and I may order a couple more because I have been making a lot of ice cream this Summer (taking advantage of the fresh fruit as it ripens) and have been giving away my creations to my friends in these containers and they've been slow to return the containers. These containers also nicely stack in the freezer without taking up a lot of unused space.Dislike -> only one - it's very difficult to separate the outer and inner sections of the base container. While this is a good thing because it provides excellent insulation, I like to separate the sections after use for a thorough cleaning. I have found that I can best separate the sections by running hot water over the exterior shell for a minute, then running cold water in the inner shell for a couple seconds, I then try to loosen the sections at the ends. It's not easy but it seems to be the best way for me.

This is what I call an ice cream container.
Bummer. Just bought one of those ice cream makers that have the cooling compressor built in:Whynter ICM-200LS Stainless Steel Ice Cream Maker, 2.1-Quart, SilverAfter making a few batches, we realized we 0needed a better storage alternative than regular Tupperware or my wife's salad storage container. So, while we were still within the 30 day return window on the ice cream machine, we decided to get a couple of these storage containers (different colors to differentiate flavors). These things are really great. We've made a number of recipes that made exactly 1.5 quarts of ice cream. Fit in these containers perfectly. So, the test was getting ice cream back out of the container. Just left them sit on the counter without the lid for about 10 minutes. Perfect. The rubber or whatever bottoms keep the container from sliding at all. Too, the narrowness of the container allows a perfect scoop from one end to the other. So, what part of my review is a bummer? Well, since the ice cream machine looks as if it will be a keeper (barring it breaking down over the next two weeks), we are now short of enough containers. If I had enough confidence that the ice cream maker was going to be a keeper, I would have bought the four pack container offering. So, guess I'll be using two of these containers, some Tupperware, and a salad container.Anyone considering making a bunch of ice cream and wanting to have a variety of storage containers, go ahead and opt for the four-pack. You won't regret it.Update 5/24/18I was so enamored with these containers that I went ahead and purchased the two additional colors I didn't get on my first purchase. I only make 1.5 quarts of ice cream in my machine to keep it from spewing over the top of my 2.1 quart bucket. So, this 1.5 quart container is perfect. Heck, most ice cream sold in stores today has downsized to 1.5 quarts anyway. Clean up is pretty easy as well. Prefer to hand wash as I can accomplish that in a couple of minutes as opposed to a 3 hour dishwasher cycle. I'm making so much ice cream, need to keep these containers working for me. Churn, churn, churn, eat, eat, eat. Rinse and repeat.Edit 3/25/21Had one of my outer shells develop a long crack. No idea as to how it occurred. Freezer too cold, hot water while cleaning cold plastic, sitting on counter. Absolutely no idea. Just spotted the crack as it was sitting in the freezer. Noticed that Sumo has a 100% guaranteed lifetime warranty. Contacted them and sure enough they provided a replacement unit right away. I mean next day. Amazing. I really like this company and their products. We've been using these containers (5) for nearly three years now and they have performed flawlessly.
