Dandy by William Armes, Soft Cotton Washamat Door Mat, Beige, 90 x 60

I bought two of these mats to replace some coir type mats that had warped and were almost impossible to clean.I chose the beige colour as I thought it would go best with my light coloured wooden floor, though when the mats arrived I was a little surprised that the pile was not a single colour, but three colours - a dark a light and a mid colour, which look like a darkish beige at a distance.These mats have a fairly low profile so don't catch under my front door, and rubber backing which stops them from skidding across my wooden floors. They don't seem to show up dirt too badly, mine just get hoovered with the rest of the floor but I will try the machine wash* option if they get too muddy. They feel more like carpet under foot than a door mat, actually quite soft which I guess will make them more absorbent than traditional mats. All in all very pleased!*I have since washed the mats as they were looking a little grubby after having been used for some time. I put them in the washing machine on a shortish (50 min cycle) with a very small amount of washing liquid at 30 degrees C and they washed and dried very well with no problems.

I purchased this supposedly same as previous one but the quality just isn't as good. It is thinner and the backing is very slippy and dangerous.

Looks fine but does walk around a bit. I am going to stick an anti skid mat on the underside to see if it makes any difference.

Good mat apart from some pile delamination.

This mat is described and shown as Beige, It is more black with a fleck of dark brown mixed in, not as expected.Disappointed.

Ordered the medium size and got the standard small size. Most expensive door mat ever. The product is fine if only the size was right.

I bought a couple of these to replace the excellent Washamats I purchased a few years ago from the Ideal World shopping channel. I don't know how to get hold of those particular ones and what make they were. Unfortunately these are not the same and just don't perform as well.With the Ideal World versions any moisture picked up from, for example, a wet lawn, would be completely absorbed even with a quick step on, step off, but with these Dandy versions there's still some residual moisture carried onto the utility room floor, even with a vigorous wipe.They're better than standard mats but just not as good as the Ideal World ones.
