I bought this stand specifically to mount the lego 75301 x-wing fighter so that I could display it with the wings in the open configuration. If you display the model standing on it's landing struts, then the wings need to be closed, which although accurate, it's not visually the best look and how one pictures the iconic fighter. The lego model attaches securely to the stand and is well balanced. The way I have it attached, the fighter looks like it is climbing and banking slightly to the left. The stand being made from clear acrylic is not very noticeable and does not distract from the lego model at all. Considering the price of the lego set, this stand adds to the total cost quite a bit. I picked up the lego set on sale and the stand would add 40% to the total cost. That's a steep markup for aesthetics only.
