I’ma brand new player to chess but I think this set is super nice! The quality of the pieces and “board” are fantastic, the pieces have a great feel and weight to them, I think it will be a very durable set that should last me years, the size of the case is exactly what I was looking for, perfect to bring anywhere with you by its self or in a bag, this is my first “full size” set so I was pretty blown away with the size and weight I was playing with a $8 set with holo plastic piece that was no bigger then 1 inch lol, so this is a great upgrade. Wish I could give more than 5 stars, this is a 10/10 set!! (Unfortunately I can not upload my pics I took, cause of too big file size, but the case is around 9inches long and 6inches tall, 2.5inches thick.)

The silicon “board” folds up nicely and fits perfectly in the hard shell nylon zipper storage box. The pieces are plastic but have a good quality feel and weight. They have a satin surface finish—not glossy, which I gives them a refined feel and look. There are no molding seams, artifacts, or defects in the plastic. The bottoms are not felted so they don’t play as quietly on a wooden board but they do have a material that stays put well and is noiseless on the provided silicon board. There are two soft bags with drawstrings—one white, one black—in which to store the pieces securely inside the compact zipper storage box.This is a good sized set for travel and play anywhere you have a very flat, smooth surface on which to place the silicon mat. There is also provided an instruction book with good practical advice for beginners at chess. All in all, it’s an economical, practical, and great quality set. Recommended.

Big beautiful pieces, great feel. Fun to play with.

I bought a similar cheaper brand chess board, but the quality was junk. I returned and spent a few dollars more and bought this A&A set and super happy with it. Quality weighted pieces with a nice silicon board and carrying case. Don’t be a dummy like me and buy the cheaper one first… spend the extra couple of dollars and get this quality set from A&A.

Great fit and finish for the money. The pieces have a solid feel, good weight, and a gorgeous matte finish instead of the shiny sticky plastic look of cheaper sets. The pieces do not have felt bottoms which are nice but dirty and fray over time, but instead a textured bottom that still slides on smooth hard surfaces and grips soft surfaces like silicone. Everything packs neatly into the solid case and the 15" board is pleasantly compact while being more than a tighter analysis board. While 20" is the tournament standard, it can be an overwhelming amount of surface for travel play out-and-about (you'd be lucky to find an accommodating surface in an economy hotel room). I recently purchased half a dozen sets for the kids' sudden interest and this one is my favorite all-rounder. Nice to play at home and travel. As soon as one of the cheaper sets has a casualty, I'm buying a second one of these.

Excellent chess set. The quality was surprising. Pieces feel nice and have a unique look. The contents of the kit are impressive. Nice satin bags for the pieces and a very well made silicone board that will hold up well to folding and stains. Some fun stickers and a comprehensive chess rules book. These guys are really offering some value. I just ordered the larger tournament set.

Really nice!

The set is soooo nice! An the matte doesn’t leave weird bends even when folded. The pieces are big too. This is my first real chess set and I’m more than happy with my purchase
