The Amoeba Sisters' Cartoon Guide to Biology: Science Simplified (Biology Book for High School & Middle School Kids)

I love the Amoeba Sisters’ YouTube channel so I was thrilled to get this book. It teaches biology is such an approachable, enjoyable way! The excellent illustrations keep things interesting and engaging. This will be such a helpful tool for my kids when they start biology, although they are already interested in learning from the book now. It’s a wealth of information presented in a very accessible way. I highly recommend!

It's very engaging, especially when used together with the Amoeba Sister's YouTube channel! The visuals are super helpful for understanding complex concepts, and the humor in the drawings makes it so much better than a dry textbook or a teach-to-test computer curriculum. The Amoeba Sisters make biology cool.

I bought this to use for homeschool high school biology. I love reading it with the kids. Then we watch the corresponding Amoeba Sisters YouTube videos. Then we watch the Crash Course Biology videos that relate. It has turned out to be an excellent resource. The book heavily emphasizes cell biology over other general types of biology. I also am using "The Complete High School Study Guide Everything You Need to Know to Ace Biology in One Big Fat Notebook," which rounds out the course.

I’m a biology teacher that teaches regular, honors, and AP level students. I’ve been using Amoeba sisters videos and resources for years! My students love them because they break things down , have great visuals , and bring humor and personality into the science. This book is exactly like that! It includes the biology and has all the amoeba sisters tips, tricks, and science information. It may not go into college level detail, but includes everything you need to know to get there . I love that the chapters are broken down into sections and at the end of each chapter it includes a checklist to make sure you truly understand the concepts . Trust me , students remember concepts better with their visuals that include goofy and detailed images . I absolutely love this book and can’t wait to use it in my class this fall!

This book helped me in Biology 101. There were times I would look up the chapter based on what we were learning. This was better than the textbook! I could understand concepts much better as a college student.
