Simple and a really good buy
This boombox is very 1980s. No remote. Who cares. Sounds awesome. Fills a room with sound fine. I have tried about 4 stereos from Amazon in the past couple of months. All had this terrible software enhanced bass sound. Too muddled and deep. They produced a dark, murky sound. The sound of this device is clear, and crisp. It has the "Sony style" xbass button. Sounds full, but not overbearing. An excellent choice for classical/jazz music. The true size is not listed in the description. It is approximately 9in high, 17in long, and 7in deep. It's a shelf stereo with a handle. Attached or detached speakers. All plastic, but not cheesy. Cassettes play perfect too. Auto shut off. Stores 20 AM or FM stations. You won't miss the remote. You will be in the same room with it anyway. For the oldsters out there, its functionality will be very reminiscent, and simple. All very 80s and easy. It actually could be an Emerson product from the 1980s. All of its functions were available circa 1987. Nostalgic, cute, and sounds very good at the price point. Plays tapes, CDs, and radio. No Bluetooth, but aux in for phone or MP3. This device is definitely for a retro-loving individual. Good choice for a smaller device that definitely does the job. Enjoy!!

Volume
The unit is really nice. CD's sound great, the radio reception is good for the area we are in. Rural. The volume is okay but I'm used to a little louder and more bass. I would recommend this, for sure, and would buy it again.

Great reception
I have a hard time with reception since wer're below the bluffs of the Mississippi River. I wanted this radio for my garage/shop for the CD player it has. But suprisingly, this radio gets better reception than the 2 Crane super radios we have. I can pull a couple of stations that the Crane radios won't even come close to picking up. Sound quality is good and way more volume than I need in my 32x40 shop. The weight of the radio seems a bit flimsy, but what the heck, as long as it works well. I'm very satisfied with this product.

LAND FILL JUNK
I bought this boombox so I could listen to my collection of CD's in my workshop. Very soon after I started using it the CD cover stopped popping open when I pressed the corner. It became necessary to pry it open with the end of my finger. No big deal.I waited quite a long time to try the cassette player, much longer than the time window allowed to return the unit. My fault, stupid me. Yesterday I decided to try the cassette and much to my surprise the cassette door would not open. I read all the instructions, no secret instructions. I check the door carefully for some tape, no tape. The door wasn't lined up properly. So I lined it up and tried again, no luck. I tried the end of the finger trick and it did open. I put a cassette in and tried to close the door, no luck. Can't return it. The cassette doesn't work. I'm expecting the CD cover to fail someday. I am out $72. My fault but it is still LAND FILL JUNK.

It's a tool that has NOT outlived its time!
I am enjoying using this since my other cassette player/recorders no longer can be used. The radio reception is wonderfully clear as is the Cd player with no scratched sounds. This item has been exactly what I have needed for recording and playing the cassette tapes my interests require.

Stereo is good, radio not so much
I bought this hoping to replace my old AM radio that is worn out, and get a cd player along with it. The CD player works good so far, and the sound is decent for a small unit, but really disappointed in the AM radio. It barely picks up my favorite AM station, and 2 other stations I like can't be reached at all. If you're buying this for AM radio reception, good luck. The tape deck works ok also.

I love the beautiful sound, very impressed!
Had a small cd player that stopped playing cds, so I bought another one, couldn’t read the cd, Bought another one, same story. Lots of defective c d players out there! Bought this one, even though I don’t have cassettes, etc Arrived today, set it up and it knocked my socks off. Filled the room with music by my favorite jazz pianist, Beegie Adair. Oh gosh, beautiful! Haven’t heard my favorite music in so long! Sure if you have unlimited funds you can find a better one, but at this price, it’s a great value.
